Omega Seiki Mobility (OSM) announced its entry into the mobile kitchen business on Wednesday with the official launch of the 'Meals on Wheels' e-three-wheeler. As part of this business, the company stated that it will provide a fully equipped mobile kitchen electric vehicles to start the food truck business immediately.

Over 500 customers have already expressed interest in Meals on Wheels (MOV). This three-wheeler will transform the food truck industry. The mobile kitchen industry in India has enormous potential and is also in trend. It is estimated to grow at an annual rate of 8.4 per cent in India.
OSM stated that its dealerships have already begun accepting vehicle bookings for an initial fee of Rs 19,999. The Meals on Wheels EV, which is available with both fast and fixed battery options, is priced at Rs 7 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi and after subsidy). However, vehicle deliveries will begin in January of next year.
The company also announced the launch of a mobile kitchen incubator and employment program for tier-II and tier-III regions to train aspiring entrepreneurs on such vehicles. The main aim of this Programme is to help aspiring entrepreneurs learn about the business and gain the skills set that are needed to operate and own a mobile kitchen electric vehicle.
According to OSM, Covid-19 had an impact on the mobile kitchen business in India, but it is expected to grow significantly in the future. According to the company, "Given their operational characteristics, it appears to be more survivable than dine-in restaurants. The ability to drive the vehicle around town helps to attract more customers and visit more places."
Electrifying a mobile kitchen aims to increase sustainability by lowering operational costs. Customers will receive fully equipped MOVs from OSM to begin their mobile kitchen business immediately.
