NueGo Sets Records with Historic Kashmir-to-Kanyakumari Electric Bus Expedition

NueGo has achieved dual recognition from the Asia Book of Records and the India Book of Records for its groundbreaking Kashmir-to-Kanyakumari (E-K2K) electric bus expedition. Covering an impressive 4,039 kilometers across 200 cities and towns, this journey set a new benchmark for the maximum distance traveled by an electric bus in a single expedition.

Promoting Green Mobility Along the Way

During the expedition, NueGo’s electric bus actively engaged with local communities through various initiatives such as tree planting drives, student workshops, and street plays. These activities aimed to spread awareness about the importance of eco-friendly travel and the role of electric vehicles in reducing emissions.

The journey resulted in significant environmental benefits, saving approximately 3,900 kilograms of CO2 emissions and planting over 500 trees in major cities like Delhi, Bhopal, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, and Kanyakumari.

A Milestone for Sustainable Transit

Devndra Chawla, MD and CEO of GreenCell Mobility, shared his thoughts on the expedition, saying, “Beyond achieving a technological milestone, the expedition promoted green mobility and engaged communities nationwide, embodying our vision for sustainable transit solutions.”

The E-K2K journey reflects India's commitment to green transportation alternatives, showcasing the feasibility of electric buses across varied terrains, from mountainous regions 3,500 feet above sea level to coastal areas. The initiative also celebrated India’s cultural diversity through community workshops, skits, and other interactive activities.
