In the category of Excellent Product Design, New Holland's Straddle Tractor Concept wins a gold medal in the German Award Design 2023. The German Design Council gives this prestigious award. The revolutionary Straddle Tractor Concept is the result of the specialists, which offer an elegant design, outstanding innovation, and forward-thinking ideas of machines. The Straddle Tractor Concept will be unveiled at SITEVI 2021 and is a joint effort between New Holland Agriculture and Pininfarina, the renowned design firm.

Interior and Exterior of the Tractor

Pininfarina created a futuristic design that combines safety, comfort, and technology. It is modelled after the shape of a Champagne glass, which is tall, wide at the top, and tapered down at the bottom, as a tribute to premium wine producers. The entire cab is made of glass, giving the driver excellent visibility of the vines and the surrounding area. It is also angled in the direction of travel, giving the design more dynamism. The tractor's overall exterior design is outstanding and dynamic. The frame of the tractor gives off a sporty appearance. The interior of the cab has a single large door and a rotating seat, and the use of wood adds to the cab's plush, opulent appearance—yet another nod to wine barrels.

The idea was developed in a video, which users from all over the world have viewed thousands of times on New Holland Agriculture channels. The idea was specifically created to meet the needs of the narrow vineyards. These operations use grapes that are cultivated in rows that are less than 1.5 meters wide, frequently on steep slopes and in small vineyards, to create high-quality, high-value wines. In these circumstances, the majority of the vine maintenance is carried out by a tractor that travels above the rows while picking the grapes by hand.
