Mustard prices stayed firm across India as limited arrivals, higher edible oil prices, and strong market demand supported gains. Jaipur remained steady at ₹8,400 per quintal.

Jaipur mustard price steady at ₹8,400 per quintal.
Around 2.75 lakh bags arrived across major markets.
CBOT soy oil and KLC palm oil supported prices.
Mustard oil and oil cake prices moved higher.
Prices remain above ₹6,200 MSP in most markets.
The domestic mustard market continued to trade on a firm note, with prices staying strong across major mandis due to limited selling by farmers and stockists. Although arrivals remained moderate at around 2.75 lakh bags, market sentiment stayed positive as supplies were well controlled.
Conditioned mustard prices in Jaipur remained unchanged at ₹8,400 per quintal. Other key markets also recorded gains, with Bharatpur trading at ₹7,921 per quintal (up ₹29), Delhi Lawrence Road at ₹8,350 (up ₹100), Charkhi Dadri at ₹8,490 (up ₹70), while Agra Shamshabad remained steady at ₹7,930 per quintal.
According to traders, restrained selling by both farmers and stockists continues to provide strong support to prices despite adequate market arrivals.
The positive trend in international edible oil markets also strengthened the Indian mustard market.
CBOT Soybean Oil gained around 2.3%
Malaysian KLC Palm Oil rose nearly 0.67%
The rise in global edible oil prices improved buying sentiment in India's mustard and edible oil markets, contributing to the continued firmness in domestic prices.
The strength in mustard prices also pushed up the prices of processed products.
Crude mustard oil prices increased by ₹10 per 10 kg
Expeller mustard oil also gained ₹10 per 10 kg
Mustard oil cake prices rose between ₹25 and ₹75 per quintal across major markets
The improvement in oil and oil cake prices has maintained a positive outlook for the mustard crushing industry.
Industry estimates indicate that India's mustard production has declined during the current season.
Estimated production fell from 11.725 million tonnes to 11.025 million tonnes.
Total mustard arrivals up to July 31 reached around 7.2 million tonnes, which is about 5.025 million tonnes higher than the same period last year.
Even with higher cumulative arrivals, controlled selling has prevented any major pressure on prices.
The Minimum Support Price (MSP) for mustard for the 2026-27 marketing season has been fixed at ₹6,200 per quintal. Market prices in most producing regions are currently trading well above the MSP, encouraging many farmers to prefer selling in the open market. However, a few markets are still quoting prices below the support price.

Market experts believe the overall outlook for mustard remains positive due to supportive domestic fundamentals and strong global edible oil prices. While some profit-booking may emerge after the recent rally, controlled arrivals and limited selling are expected to keep prices well supported.
If overseas edible oil markets continue their upward trend and domestic arrivals remain under control, mustard prices are likely to stay firm in the coming weeks. However, traders and farmers will continue to monitor global market movements, supply-demand dynamics, and fresh arrivals for further price direction.

The domestic mustard market continues to remain firm, supported by limited selling from farmers, controlled arrivals, and strength in global edible oil markets. Rising mustard oil and oil cake prices have further improved market sentiment for crushers. Although mustard production has declined this season, prices remain comfortably above the MSP in most major markets. If global edible oil prices stay strong and arrivals remain limited, mustard prices are expected to remain stable in the near term.
