511 families have been selected in Mathura under Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Gramin.
A total of 589 people applied, with 511 found eligible after verification.
Eligible beneficiaries receive ₹1.20 lakh in assistance in three installments.
The first installment of ₹40,000 is expected to be released after government funds are received.
Chhata recorded the highest number of beneficiaries at 201.
The scheme is separate from the central government's PMAY-Gramin programme.
A total of 511 families in Mathura district have been selected under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Gramin this financial year and are expected to receive the first installment of ₹40,000 soon. The Uttar Pradesh government scheme provides financial assistance to eligible rural families for building permanent houses.
Under the scheme, eligible beneficiaries receive total financial assistance of ₹1.20 lakh in three installments. The first installment of ₹40,000 is released to help beneficiaries begin house construction, while the remaining amount is provided in subsequent installments based on the progress of construction.
Applications were invited this financial year under the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Gramin to support eligible families from specific categories, including nomads, snake charmers and destitute women.
A total of 589 people applied for assistance in Mathura district. Their applications were verified at the block level across the district's development blocks. Officials examined whether applicants met the eligibility conditions and requirements set under the scheme.
After the verification process was completed, 511 applicants were found eligible. The lists prepared by all 10 development blocks were then sent to the district headquarters.
The district-level list of selected beneficiaries has also been prepared and forwarded to the government. The Rural Development Agency is now completing the process for the release of the first installment, while a request for the required funds has been sent to the state headquarters.
The Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Gramin provides ₹1.20 lakh in financial assistance to eligible rural families for the construction of permanent houses.
The amount is transferred directly to the beneficiary's bank account in three installments to ensure a transparent disbursement process. The first installment is ₹40,000. The remaining assistance is released in stages according to the progress of house construction.

Beneficiaries have been selected from all 10 development blocks of Mathura district. Chhata development block recorded the highest number of eligible beneficiaries, while Nandgaon had the lowest number.

According to the district data, Chhata accounts for 201 selected beneficiaries, followed by Chaumuhan with 111 and Baldev with 58. Nandgaon recorded the smallest number of selected beneficiaries at 12.
The eligibility verification process has already been completed at the block level, and the details of eligible families have been sent to the district level.
The first installment will be released once the required funds are received from the government. Only applicants who have successfully cleared the verification and eligibility process will receive assistance under the scheme.
Selected beneficiaries should ensure that their bank account details and other required documents are accurate and updated. Any incorrect information could create problems or delays during the transfer of the installment.
Once the first ₹40,000 installment reaches the bank accounts of eligible beneficiaries, they will be able to begin construction of their permanent homes.
The Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Gramin should not be confused with the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana-Gramin (PMAY-G).
PMAY-Gramin is the central government's rural housing scheme and provides financial assistance to eligible rural families for constructing permanent houses. On the other hand, the Mukhyamantri Awas Yojana Gramin is a Uttar Pradesh government scheme designed to support families belonging to categories and eligibility criteria identified by the state government.
Both schemes focus on improving housing conditions and helping needy rural families get permanent homes, but they are separate programmes with different implementing authorities and beneficiary criteria.
For Mathura's 511 newly selected beneficiaries, the next major step is the release of the first ₹40,000 installment. After funds are made available by the government, the amount will be transferred directly to the bank accounts of eligible families, helping them move closer to building their own permanent homes.
