Farmers in Haryana have a reason to be happy as the state government has announced the dates for purchasing the Rabi crops at the Minimum Support Price (MSP) for the 2025-26 marketing season. This decision ensures that farmers will get fair prices for their produce, including mustard, gram, moong, lentils, and sunflower.

MSP Procurement Dates for Rabi Crops

The Haryana government has set the following dates for procurement:

The Central Government has fixed the MSP rates for this season to ensure better income for farmers:

Extent of Cultivation and Expected Yield

As per the government’s data, Haryana has cultivated a significant amount of oilseeds and pulses for this season:

  • Mustard: 21.8 lakh acres, expected production of 15.59 lakh metric tonnes.
  • Gram: 0.61 lakh acres, expected production of 0.30 lakh metric tonnes.
  • Sunflower: 0.63 lakh acres, expected production of 0.50 lakh metric tonnes.
  • Lentil: 98 acres cultivated.
  • Summer Moong: 1 lakh acres, expected production of 0.48 lakh metric tonnes.

Government Steps to Ensure Smooth Procurement

To facilitate a hassle-free procurement process, the Haryana government has instructed officials to:

  • Establish and mark procurement centers.
  • Ensuring enough storage facilities.
  • Arrange gunny bags and weighing mechanisms.
  • Start procurement on the scheduled dates without delays.

Relief for Mandi Commission Agents

In addition to supporting farmers, the Haryana government has approved a compensation package of ₹3.09 crore for mandi commission agents who suffered losses due to moisture-related weighing differences. This amount will be distributed as follows:

  • ₹77.22 lakh by the Food, Civil Supplies & Consumer Affairs Department.
  • ₹1.71 crore by Haryana State Cooperative Supply and Marketing Federation Limited (HAFED).
  • ₹61.56 lakh by Haryana State Warehousing Corporation (HSWC).
