The decision has been taken to help farmers who could not sell their produce on time due to overcrowding, long queues, and heavy rush at procurement centres.

Government Targets 100 Lakh Metric Tonnes Wheat Procurement

Chief Minister Dr. Mohan Yadav said that the state government is fully committed to protecting farmers interests and ensuring that no farmer faces inconvenience during procurement.

He stated that wheat procurement is happening at a record level this year in Madhya Pradesh. The government has set a target to purchase around 100 lakh metric tonnes of wheat in the current season.

According to government data, around 77 lakh metric tonnes of wheat were procured in the state last year. This year, procurement has already crossed 93 lakh 31 thousand 177 metric tonnes.

Record Wheat Production in Madhya Pradesh This Year

The state government said wheat production has reached record levels this year, leading to a huge number of farmers arriving at procurement centres to sell their crops at MSP.

Due to the increasing rush, the government decided to extend the procurement period so that all farmers who booked slots can sell their wheat without any trouble.

Farmers Who Booked Slots Need Not Worry

Chief Minister Mohan Yadav appealed to farmers not to worry if they have already booked procurement slots. He assured that the government is making all necessary arrangements for smooth wheat procurement.

He also said that under the leadership of Narendra Modi, both the central and state governments are continuously working for the welfare of farmers, poor families, women, and youth. The main aim is to ensure farmers get fair prices for their crops and better income opportunities.

More Than 12.56 Lakh Farmers Have Sold Wheat

According to the state government, Madhya Pradesh has recorded the highest wheat procurement in the country this year. So far, wheat has been purchased from nearly 12,56,952 farmers across the state.

The government also claimed that several new arrangements have been introduced to make the procurement process faster and more convenient for farmers.

Timing Extended for Weighing Slips and Bills

To avoid payment delays and reduce inconvenience at procurement centres, the government has changed the timings for important procurement activities.

The deadline for generating weighing slips, which was earlier fixed at 6 PM, has now been extended till 10 PM. At the same time, the deadline for issuing bills has been increased till midnight.

Officials believe these changes will speed up the procurement process and help farmers complete formalities more easily.

Wheat Procurement Will Continue Six Days a Week

The state government clarified that wheat procurement will continue six days a week from Monday to Saturday. This arrangement is expected to help more farmers sell their crops on time.

The payment process is also continuing smoothly. So far, nearly ₹19,423 crore has already been transferred directly into farmers bank accounts.

Government Calls It a Major Achievement

The Madhya Pradesh government has described the record wheat procurement as a major achievement for the state. Officials said similar farmer-friendly decisions will continue in the future to strengthen farmers economically and ensure they receive the full benefit of MSP.

Farmers across the state are hopeful that the extended procurement deadline will help them sell their produce without hassle and receive timely payments from the government.
