The Uttar Pradesh government has assured farmers that there will be no shortage of fertilizers during the Kharif 2026 season. To increase transparency and prevent panic buying, the state Agriculture Department has released a division-wise fertilizer stock list showing the availability of Urea, DAP and NPK across all divisions.
The department stated that adequate stocks of Urea, DAP, NPK, SSP and MOP are available throughout the state. Farmers have been advised not to believe rumours regarding fertilizer shortages and to purchase fertilizers only according to their crop requirements instead of storing excess quantities.
State Agriculture Minister Surya Pratap Shahi said the government is making continuous efforts to ensure farmers receive every essential agricultural input, from seeds to fertilizers and marketing support. He said sufficient fertilizer stocks have been arranged to meet the demand for Kharif crops, while regular coordination is also being maintained with the Government of India to ensure uninterrupted fertilizer availability in every district and division.
The Agriculture Department has appealed to all farmers to complete their Farmer Registry based on their agricultural land records or ownership documents. According to the department, registered farmers will be able to receive fertilizers as per the recommended crop requirement without any difficulty.
Officials also clarified that fertilizer stocks are adequate across the state, making unnecessary advance stocking unnecessary.
The Agriculture Department reported satisfactory fertilizer availability and distribution during the period from April 1 to July 27, 2026.
Urea: Availability stood at 31.55 lakh metric tonnes, while 22.18 lakh metric tonnes were distributed, compared to 20.47 lakh metric tonnes during the same period last year.
DAP: Availability reached 7.11 lakh metric tonnes, with 4.37 lakh metric tonnes distributed, up from 3.96 lakh metric tonnes in the corresponding period last year.
NPK: Availability was 6.33 lakh metric tonnes, while 1.90 lakh metric tonnes were distributed.
SSP: Availability stood at 4.72 lakh metric tonnes, with 2.13 lakh metric tonnes distributed.
MOP: Availability reached 1.35 lakh metric tonnes, while 0.24 lakh metric tonnes were distributed.
The figures indicate that fertilizer supplies have remained sufficient to meet seasonal demand across Uttar Pradesh.
