India's first JBM Electric Medical Mobile Unit (MMU) was officially unveiled in New Delhi. This fully Indian-designed and developed unit is part of the country's ongoing efforts to improve healthcare access, especially in rural and semi-rural areas.

Aligning with the PM Jan Aarogya Yojna (PM-JAY)

The MMU is aligned with the PM Jan Aarogya Yojna (PM-JAY). It is the Prime Minister's initiative aimed at providing better healthcare services to underserved populations. These Mobile Medical Units are a key component of the National Health Mission (NHM), designed to deliver primary healthcare services directly to remote and vulnerable communities.

Key Features of the MMU

The MMU is equipped with essential medical tools like a defibrillator, fibroscan, bio-chemistry analyzer, centrifuge, blood transport box, and ECG machine. It can provide primary care, diagnostics, and emergency assistance, making it a "hospital on wheels." Additionally, the unit includes a trained medical staff, medicines, advanced equipment, and teleconsultation capabilities.

Dignitaries Present at the Event

The unveiling ceremony was attended by notable dignitaries, including Shri J.P. Nadda, Minister of Health & Family Welfare; Shri Manohar Lal, Minister of Housing and Urban Affairs; and Dr. S.K. Sarin, Director of the Institute of Liver & Biliary Sciences. The event also saw the participation of Shri S.K. Arya, Chairman of JBM Group, and Shri Nishant Arya, Vice Chairman of JBM Group.
