GreenCell Mobility has received an order for 570 electric buses from the Transport Department of the government of National Capital Territory of Delhi. This contract is for 6,465 e-buses under Gross Cost Contracting (GCC) is the largest ever floated in India for e-buses. GreenCell bid for 1,900 low-floor e-buses in a tender floated by CESL and was awarded a contract for 570 e-buses to be deployed over the next two years.
This was one of the most competitive and hotly contested lots. The GreenCell emerged as the winner. These 570 buses are to be deployed over the next two years. GreenCell is implementing nearly 1,500 E-buses in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Uttar Pradesh, Karnataka, Rajasthan, Uttarakhand, New Delhi, and Madhya Pradesh, with over 700 already operational in 23 cities. This bid more than doubles GreenCell's B2G portfolio and expands GreenCell's presence across India with a marquee counterpart like the Delhi government. According to Sumit Mittal, this bid expands GreenCell's B2G portfolio by more than 60% and expands its presence across India with a marquee counterpart such as the Government of Delhi.
