According to Hyder Ali Khan, CEO of Godawari Electric Motors, as it enters its first year of production, Raipur-based Godawari Electric Motors intends to provide five new products while growing its touchpoints and market presence in FY24.

In 2019, the company began leasing e-three-wheelers. However, after completing a pilot period of analyzing and researching market acceptance of EV vehicles, the company opted to enter the vehicle manufacturing sector.

The e-mobility player displayed its initial set of products at the Auto Expo 2023, including the Rozee e-auto as well as the Eblu Spin and Thrill e-cycles; retail sales of these vehicles began in mid-March 2023. According to the CEO, the business expects to debut an e-loader based on the same platform as the Rozee e-auto by the end of this month.

The e-loader will have a loading capacity of 500 kg and a certified range of 163 kilometres. The e-loader will have a 10kWH 51.2 V lithium-ion battery and a 5.5 kWh motor from Bosch, as well as the DCPD material for the body.

DCPD material

The company received a patent for DCPD material in November 2022. DCPD is the most recent plastic technology and provides numerous advantages. According to a company statement, the material is impact resistant and "virtually unbreakable". The firm officials mentioned that the material is used in high-end Volvo and Daimler truck dashboards and bumpers.

The impact-resistant material allows the vehicle to work in harsh conditions. DCPD is a thermoset plastic that is used in the fabrication of boat hulls, decks, farm machinery, fan shrouds, panels on vehicle bodies, protective shielding, and other products that must withstand high impacts and fatigue. DCPD is a rust-proof material that gives a long life to the vehicle. It makes the vehicle strong enough to work in harsh conditions and it is rust-proof.

E-Scooter

Following the release of the e-loader, the business intends to release a high-speed e-scooter in June, which is now in the certification stage with ICAT. The scooter will be positioned as a family scooter and will have a 1.5 kWh hub motor with a 42Ah 60-volt lithium-ion battery. The e-scooter will have a stated range of 100 kilometres and a top speed of 60 kmph, with a focus on comfort, safety, drivability, and manoeuvrability, as per the senior officials.

He also mentioned that a funkier version of the scooter aimed at younger clients is in the works for the upcoming holiday season. The mechanical underpinnings of both scooters are the same; however, the e-scooter will have a peppier power output and a top speed of 70 kmph, according to the CEO.

E-Rickshaw

Meanwhile, an e-rickshaw based on a modified L-5 chassis used in the company's e-auto and e-loader is set to be released this year. The L3 will be released in September and will be classified as low-speed. In addition, an e-motorcycle aimed at the entry-level motorbike market is planned for March 2024. Although not yet finalized, the device is planned to share components with the e-scooter with minor modifications, according to Khan.

Expanding Dealership Network

To complement the product expansion, the company wants to aggressively expand its dealership network. It was discovered that Godawari currently has 28 dealerships throughout India. With a presence in Tier-1 and Tier-2 cities, the goal is to have 50 dealerships by August 2023 and 100 by the end of the year. Based on demand, it will explore multiple dealerships in a city.

By the conclusion of the fiscal year, the firm intends to have average monthly sales of 130 units of e-auto, 150 units of e-loader, 3,000 units of scooters combined, and 1,500 cycles.
