The agreement calls for the supply of 1,000 units in the first year for deployment in cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, and Kolkata.
Gentari, a developer of clean energy solutions, announced that it has inked an agreement with Tata Motors to provide 5,000 e-commercial vehicles.
Gentari said in a statement that the memorandum of understanding (MoU) with its affiliate firm is for three years.
In 2022, Gentari signed an MoU with Tata Motors, India's largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, through its affiliated entity Amplus Power Supply Private Limited, under which the latter will deliver 5,000 units of Tata Ace EV over three years.
The agreement calls for the supply of 1,000 units in the first year for deployment in cities such as Delhi, Bangalore, Hyderabad, Pune, and Kolkata.
According to MoEVing CEO Vikash Mishra, the market entry of high-quality electric four-wheelers creates an entirely new electrification opportunity in the urban delivery environment.
"We are excited to work with Gentari to deploy three- and four-wheeled commercial electric vehicles across India to reduce the carbon footprint of deliveries. With our operations, charging and maintenance footprint reaching across India, we intend to bring change on-ground and electrify deliveries for e-commerce, e-grocery, the logistics market and now also huge FMCG and traditional companies," Mishra added.
Gentari provides cleaner energy alternatives to meet energy needs. Along with supporting the electric vehicle (EV) ecosystem, it also hopes to establish itself as a preferred supplier of green mobility solutions. To do this, it plans to gain 10% of the Asian Pacific market, or about 25,000 charging stations, by establishing strong bases in Malaysia and India.
