Ahead of World EV Day, Gateway Distriparks Limited (GDL), one of India's leading multimodal logistics service providers, has deployed electric heavy-duty trucks from Blue Energy Motors for commercial freight operations.
The electric trucks were flagged off at Gateway Distriparks ICD Garhi Harsaru facility in Gurugram, Haryana. They will be used for commercial freight movement within the company's transportation network.
The deployment marks another important step towards cleaner freight transportation in India as logistics companies increasingly focus on reducing emissions while maintaining operational efficiency and reliability.
Gateway Distriparks has integrated Blue Energy Motors electric heavy-duty trucks into its active logistics operations as part of its efforts to build a more sustainable transportation ecosystem.
The initiative aims to reduce the environmental impact of freight movement while supporting India's broader transition towards cleaner commercial transportation.
Blue Energy Motors electric trucks are purpose-built for commercial freight applications and are designed to handle demanding logistics operations. The vehicles feature advanced battery technology, intelligent vehicle management systems and a robust service support ecosystem.
These features are intended to provide the performance, reliability and vehicle uptime required for modern freight transportation while enabling cleaner and more efficient movement of goods.
Commenting on the deployment, Samvid Gupta, Joint Managing Director of Gateway Distriparks Limited, said sustainability is becoming an increasingly important priority across supply chains.
He said Gateway Distriparks is committed to adopting solutions that support its environmental goals while maintaining the reliability and efficiency expected by its customers.
According to Gupta, the deployment of electric trailers represents an important step in the company's sustainability journey. With support from Blue Energy Motors and its charging ecosystem, Gateway Distriparks has deployed electric trailers for first and last-mile connectivity.
This deployment demonstrates the growing viability of electric trailers in container logistics and reflects the company's focus on building a more sustainable logistics ecosystem while continuing to deliver operational excellence.

According to Mimani, deployments like this allow Blue Energy Motors to work closely with fleet operators, understand their operational requirements and support the practical adoption of electric trucks across freight operations.
The latest deployment comes amid growing momentum for electric freight transportation in India. Blue Energy Motors electric heavy-duty trucks have already travelled on the Mumbai–Delhi NCR corridor, demonstrating the viability of zero-tailpipe-emission freight transportation on one of India's busiest logistics routes.
As electric trucks begin moving goods across important freight corridors, they are expected to play a bigger role in the electrification of commercial road transport and help reduce the environmental impact of logistics activities.

According to the company, this emissions reduction is equivalent to the carbon absorption capacity of nearly 1.3 million trees.
