A Kanpur-based NGO has introduced free e-rickshaw services to make the Amarnath Yatra journey more comfortable for the pilgrims. The e-three-wheeler has been used to transport pilgrims from Domail to the Baltal base camp and vice versa.

Pilgrims are frequently fatigued after walking 24 kilometres on rocky terrain to and from the Holy Cave shrine in the south Kashmir Himalayas. After passing through the Domail access-control gates, they have to hike another five kilometres to the Baltal base camp parking lot.
