Escorts Kubota has marked 30 years of the Farmtrac brand in India with the launch of the Farmtrac 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ and an expanded PROMAXX 2.0 tractor range. The company has introduced new 47 HP and 50 HP tractor models to meet the growing demand for higher torque, advanced features and four-wheel-drive tractors.
Farmtrac was launched in India in 1995 and currently offers tractors ranging from 26 HP to 60 HP. Escorts Kubota operates three tractor brands in India, Kubota, Farmtrac and Powertrac, serving the premium, entry-premium and value segments, respectively.
The Farmtrac 6055 Classic ‘Dark Edition’ is the company's first all-black tractor and has been introduced in the 55 HP category. It will be available in both 2WD and 4WD configurations.
The tractor is powered by a four-cylinder, 3,682cc engine that produces a maximum torque of 247 Nm. It comes with a 2,500 kg hydraulic lift capacity, along with LED lighting and a heat shield.
The Farmtrac 6055 Classic Dark Edition has been designed for demanding agricultural applications such as:
Super seeding
Laser levelling
Reversible mould board ploughing
Rotavation
Harrowing
Heavy haulage
The new Dark Edition also brings a distinctive styling option to the 55 HP tractor segment.
Farmtrac has also expanded its PROMAXX 2.0 range with the launch of the 47 HT PROMAXX and 50 PROMAXX tractors.
Both models will be available in 2WD and 4WD versions, offering customers more options based on their farming and application requirements.
The tractors are powered by Farmtrac's 3,514cc High Torque engine, which delivers up to 230 Nm of torque. Key features of the new PROMAXX 2.0 tractors include:
12-forward and three-reverse gearbox
Creeper speed option
Flat operator platform
High-torque engine performance
4WD option for improved traction
The 4WD versions are aimed at customers who require better traction and higher pulling capability for demanding agricultural operations.
According to Nikhil Nanda, Chairman and Managing Director, the new products are part of the company's strategy to strengthen the Farmtrac portfolio with application-focused offerings across important horsepower categories.
Akira Kato, Deputy Managing Director, said the 41-50 HP category remains the largest segment in India's domestic tractor market. However, customer demand in this category is increasingly shifting towards tractors with higher torque and 4WD capability as agricultural applications become more demanding.
Neeraj Mehra, Chief Officer, Tractor Business Division, said the growing adoption of heavy-duty mechanisation and changing customer expectations are increasing demand for tractors offering greater utility, comfort and additional features.
The company is positioning the PROMAXX 2.0 range around higher torque, creeper speed capability and improved operator comfort.
The new Farmtrac 6055 Classic Dark Edition, along with the 47 HT PROMAXX and 50 PROMAXX models, will be introduced through Farmtrac's authorised dealer network across India.
