Commercial Vehicle demand is growing rapidly in India as the government is spending a lot of money on infrastructure projects. In October 2023, a total of 88,699 units of CVs were sold marking a 10.26% growth.
Singhania also said, “Despite initial underperformance during Navratri, particularly in the passenger vehicle sector, the situation improved by Deepawali, ending with a 10% growth rate. While SUVs were the highest demanded vehicles, inventory levels for passenger vehicles remain a significant concern as OEMs continue to push further dispatch thus keeping the inventory rate at near to all-time high levels.”
The retail sales data is collected by FADA in collaboration with the Union Ministry of Road Transport & Highways. The data was collected from 1,355 RTOs out of 1,442 RTOs.
