Electric Three-Wheeler Sales Report: YC Electric Vehicle Tops E-rickshaw Market with 38,452 Units Sold

In the E-cart segment, Dilli Electric Auto emerged as the leader, capturing the top position with 2,827 units sold. On the other hand, in the E-rickshaw segment, YC Electric Vehicle emerged as the leader by securing the top position with 38,452 units.

YC Electric, Saera Electric, Dilli Electric, Mahindra & Mahindra and many more have announced their sales figures for December 2023 and strong YoY growth can be seen by almost every automaker.

E-rickshaws and L5M Category Sales Trend

The Electric 3-wheeler passenger segment witnessed a remarkable surge in sales during 2023. According to data from the Vahan portal, the combined sales of E-rickshaws and L5M category vehicles reached an impressive 522,796 units, marking a substantial increase from the 2022 figure of 318,095 units.

This significant growth highlights the escalating demand for eco-friendly and cost-effective transportation solutions. Breaking down the numbers, E-rickshaw sales accounted for the majority, with 473,761 units sold in 2023. The remaining 49,035 units were attributed to the L5 category.

OEM-wise Sales Analysis

In the E-rickshaw segment, YC Electric Vehicle emerged as the leader, securing the top position with 41% Y-o-Y growth. YC Electric Vehicle witnessed a 2.72% M-o-M growth, with 3,554 units sold in December 2023, up from 3,450 units in November 2023.

Saera Electric secured second Position with 28% Y-o-Y growth. Saera Electric witnessed a 2.22% decline in M-o-M basis, with 2,494 units sold in December 2023, up from 2,561 units in November 2023.

Dilli Electric Auto secured the third position with 48% Y-o-Y growth. Dilli Electric Auto witnessed a 12.29% M-o-M growth, with 1,964 units sold in December 2023, up from 1,749 units in November 2023.

E-cart and L5N Category Sales Trend

Simultaneously, the E-3W cargo segment also experienced a substantial uptick in sales, totalling 59,993 units for Ecart and L5N category vehicles in 2023. This marked a significant increase from the 2022 sales figure of 34,614 units.

The cargo segment plays a crucial role in the logistics and delivery industry, and the growing acceptance of electric cargo three-wheelers highlights the industry's commitment to sustainable practices.

Breaking down the numbers, Ecart sales constituted 35,183 units, while L5 category vehicles accounted for 24,810 units.

OEM-wise Sales Analysis

In the E-cart segment, Dilli Electric Auto emerged as the leader, capturing the top position with 2,827 units sold. The company sold 292 units in December 2023 as compared to 131 units in December 2022. This represents an amazing 123% year-on-year growth.

YC Electric Vehicle secured the second position, with 2,076 units. The company sold 258 units in December 2023 as compared to 112 units in December 2022. This represents an amazing 130% year-on-year growth.

SKS Trade secured the third position. The company sold 174 units in December 2023 as compared to 79 units in December 2022. This represents an amazing 120% year-on-year growth.

The success of manufacturers like YC Electric Vehicle, Saera Electric, and Dilli Electric Auto reflects the industry's commitment to providing eco-friendly alternatives that meet the demands of consumers and contribute to a cleaner and greener future.

These impressive sales figures signify a growing acceptance and adoption of electric Three-wheeler vehicles in the market. As concerns about environmental sustainability and fuel efficiency continue to rise, the electric mobility sector is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping the future of transportation.
