EKA Mobility has started deploying electric buses for the Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT) system in Odisha, strengthening the state’s move toward clean and sustainable public transport. Under this project, 100 EKA 9M electric buses will operate across the capital region, helping expand public transport services while reducing emissions.

Flag-Off and Project Partnership

The electric buses were virtually flagged off by Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi, highlighting the government’s continued focus on electric mobility and green urban transport. The deployment is being carried out in partnership with Travel Time Mobility Pvt. Ltd., which is responsible for managing the operational aspects of the fleet for CRUT.

Details of the Electric Bus Deployment

The project includes a total of 100 electric buses that will serve multiple routes across the capital region. These buses will increase CRUT’s transport capacity and support the transition from conventional fuel-based buses to zero-emission electric vehicles, improving air quality and passenger comfort.
