EIM Partners with OWS and Radiance to Deploy 500 Electric Heavy Trucks Across India

Energy In Motion Limited (EIM) has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Oil Field Warehouse & Services Limited (OWS) and Radiance Green Mobility Private Limited to deploy 500 electric heavy commercial vehicles (e-HCVs) across key industrial freight corridors in India.

The partnership will focus on high-density cargo routes, including the Mumbai-Pune, Mundra-Morbi-Ahmedabad and Mumbai-Delhi corridors. The first phase of commercial deployment is scheduled to begin in October 2026, with 50 electric heavy vehicles set to operate on the Mumbai-Pune route.

EIM to Expand Battery-Swapping Network

The deployment will gradually expand as EIM develops its dedicated battery-swapping network across the selected freight corridors.

Under the agreement, EIM will provide its complete electric heavy vehicle ecosystem, including the Ashwa 55-ton electric tractor, battery-swapping systems and charging infrastructure. The company has recently completed the homologation of a 350-kWh battery variant of the Ashwa electric tractor.

OWS and Radiance Green Mobility, which is an arm of Jyothi Transport & Freight Services, will be responsible for managing commercial fleet operations and logistics deployment.

Focus on Lower Freight Costs and Reduced Diesel Dependence

According to Narendra Murkumbi, Managing Director of EIM, the partnership aims to reduce the operating costs of heavy freight transportation compared to conventional diesel-powered vehicles.

The large-scale deployment of electric heavy trucks is also expected to reduce dependence on imported fossil fuels. By combining electric tractors with battery-swapping and charging infrastructure, the partnership aims to support cleaner and more efficient freight movement on some of India's major industrial transport routes.

The initial deployment of 50 vehicles in October 2026 will serve as the first step toward the planned rollout of 500 electric heavy commercial vehicles across the country's key freight corridors.
