Truck and bus drivers are a vital part of India’s logistics and transportation system. Eicher’s driver well-being programs not only improve the health of drivers but also ensure better road safety, operational efficiency, and vehicle uptime for operators.

Speaking about the initiative, Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO, VECV, said: “Truck and bus drivers form the backbone of our logistics system. At Eicher, we salute these highway heroes who tirelessly keep our economy running. We believe driver well-being is central to building a safe and sustainable transport ecosystem. Through the Eicher Highway Superheroes Program, we aim to provide Truck and Bus Drivers with access to essential health services, including eye care. This initiative aligns with our commitment to supporting drivers and enhancing road safety in India.”
Launched in 2016, the Eicher Highway Superheroes Program has been instrumental in making advanced and affordable eye screening services accessible to truck drivers. The program ensures better driver health and safer roads.
Eicher currently operates 13 EMV (Eicher Eye and Ear Screening Mobile Vans) and a fixed center at Sanjay Gandhi Transport Nagar, Delhi.
Collaborations with 10 hospital partners, 2,500 transporters, and government transport departments across 11 states strengthen the initiative.
Since its inception, the program has benefited over 2.7 lakh drivers across India.
On an annual basis, the Eicher Driver Care Program benefits more than 1.5 lakh drivers.

To go beyond health and create long-term benefits, Eicher has also established the Phoenix-Eicher Institute of Driver Training and Research in Latur, Maharashtra. This institute focuses on upskilling the driver community with professional training programs that enhance their driving skills and core competencies.
