Eicher Trucks & Buses has introduced Uptime NXT Services, a new digital service ecosystem designed to help commercial vehicle owners reduce downtime, improve fleet performance and control operating costs. The new offering combines artificial intelligence (AI), connected vehicle technology and digital service tools to make vehicle maintenance and service support more efficient.

A business unit of VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), Eicher has developed the new services to help fleet operators identify vehicle-related issues sooner and get their trucks and buses back on the road faster. The system brings customers, technicians, engineers and technical experts together through an AI-enabled Uptime Centre.

The services include fuel advisory, driver scorecards, vehicle performance insights, vehicle immobiliser support and proactive service interventions. These features are intended to help customers improve fuel efficiency, monitor vehicle operations and reduce interruptions to their daily business.

Eicher Uptime NXT Services: Key Features

The Uptime NXT ecosystem builds on Eicher's centralised Uptime Centre, which was established in 2019. Since then, the company has expanded its capabilities to cover vehicle health monitoring, fault diagnosis, service operations, spare parts availability and product performance.

With the latest upgrade, Eicher is using AI and connected vehicle data to make service support more proactive. Instead of relying only on customers reporting a problem after a vehicle breaks down, the system is designed to help service teams identify requirements and coordinate suitable interventions more effectively.

For fleet owners, this approach can help reduce unexpected stoppages, improve vehicle availability and support better utilisation of trucks and buses.

Uptime Control Tower to Monitor Vehicle Service Operations

One of the main features of Uptime NXT Services is the Uptime Control Tower, which monitors service delivery and provides a clearer view of vehicle and service operations.

The system helps service teams track requirements and coordinate their responses. Better visibility into vehicle operations can also help teams prioritise service needs and respond to issues more efficiently.

Eicher is also introducing Service One, a generative AI-powered platform designed to support mechanics and technicians with vehicle diagnosis and workshop activities.

The platform aims to make relevant technical information more accessible to service personnel, helping them identify faults and carry out repairs with greater efficiency.

According to VECV, these tools can improve communication between service teams, speed up diagnosis and increase the chances of completing repairs correctly on the first attempt. This can reduce repeat repairs, additional workshop visits and the time vehicles remain unavailable for commercial operations.

My Eicher App Supports More Than 460,000 Connected Vehicles

The My Eicher app is another key part of the company's digital fleet management system. It brings several vehicle monitoring and customer support features together on a single platform.

The app offers:

  • Live vehicle tracking

  • Fuel management

  • Trip management

  • Fleet performance monitoring

  • Predictive uptime support

  • Driver safety monitoring

  • Vehicle service support

Eicher said the My Eicher platform currently serves more than 200,000 customers and connects over 460,000 vehicles.

These connected services help customers access vehicle information and monitor fleet operations more conveniently. When combined with the Uptime Centre and its digital service tools, the platform can support better coordination between fleet operators and service teams.

For businesses that depend on commercial vehicles for transporting goods and passengers, improved monitoring and timely service support can help minimise operational disruptions.

AI Technology Aims to Reduce Truck and Bus Downtime

Vehicle downtime can affect delivery schedules, fleet utilisation and business costs. Eicher's Uptime NXT Services focuses on addressing these challenges through connected data, predictive insights and faster service responses.

B Srinivas, Managing Director and CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles, said the initiative reflects the company's focus on taking a more proactive approach to vehicle uptime. The approach combines connected technology, predictive insights, service network responsiveness and aftermarket support.

S S Gill, Chief Commercial Officer at VECV, highlighted how the Uptime Control Tower gives service teams better visibility into vehicle operations. He also pointed to the role of the generative AI-powered platform in making useful information available to technicians.

According to Gill, these capabilities are expected to support quicker fault diagnosis, smoother coordination among service teams and better first-time-right repair performance.

Together, the services are intended to help fleet operators manage their vehicles more efficiently while reducing the time and effort required to resolve service issues.
