Domestic tractor sales report for January 2023 rose by 24.41%, giving flattering news to the tractor industry. As anticipated, Mahindra Tractor Group retained its top position and sold 27626 tractors, 6464 units higher than last year. TAFE Group confirmed the second position in selling the highest number of tractors in the domestic market and generated sales of 11375 units.

Domestic Tractor Sales Report January 2023: Detailed Overview

Mahindra Tractor Group sold out 27,626 tractor models to secure 30.55% growth. Last year this tractor manufacturer had sales of 21,162 units in January 2022. Hemant Sikka, President of Farm Equipment Sector, M&M Ltd, said that they recorded a 31% gain and they are ready to take a good start because of the fortunate rabi crop.

TAFE Group January month’s domestic tractor sales surpassed 11,375 units which were 9,647 units last year. As a result, TAFE Group also saw an upsurge in its sales figure and maintained market growth of nearly 18%.

Sonalika tractor brand stood at 3rd position by selling 7581 tractors in the domestic market. This tractor brand had 6034 unit sales in January 2022, resulting in a 25.64% boost.

John Deere’s domestic tractor sales for January 2023 were registered at 6720 units against 5315 units for January 2023. Additionally, this international tractor manufacturer saw 26.43% growth because of increased sales figures.

Escorts is a leading tractor manufacturer in India, and this tractor brand also saw favorable growth in its sales figure. This tractor brand sold 6235 units in January 2023 and 5103 units in January 2022. So, you can see that Escorts managed to have a 22.18% increase.

New Holland sold 2277 units against 2136 tractor models in January 2022, and the domestic sales figure of New Holland spiked by 6.60%.

Kubota is a leading Japanese tractor brand with a significant presence in the Indian market. Kubota tractors are known for attractive design, superior performance, and higher fuel efficiency. This tractor brand sold 1612 units in January 2023 compared to last year, when the company had a sales figure of 1154.

Indo Farm, most tractor brands like Mahindra & Mahindra and Mahindra’s Swaraj Division managed to grow their sales figures, but some tractor manufacturers also saw a decline in their domestic sales for January 2023, and Indo Farm is among them. This tractor brand sold 460 tractor models last month and 550 units in January 2022.

VST tractor’s sales figure climbed by 18.50% to 436 units which were 368 units last year during January 2022.

Preet tractors’ domestic sales figure for January 2023 was 427 units against 475 tractor units in January 2022. Due to a decrease in domestic tractor sales figures, the Preet tractor brand saw a drop of 10.11%.

ACE’s domestic tractor sales increased by 32.56% and were recorded at 285 units. This tractor brand had 215 units of domestic sales during January 2022.

Force tractors’ domestic tractor sales figure was not favorable for the brand as this tractor brand registered a slight decline of 1.87% and sales of 282 units. Last year, this tractor manufacturer had domestic sales of 287 for the same month.

Captain tractors registered 260 units of domestic sales in January 2023 against 223 units in January 2022.

SDF is also a well-known tractor brand in India. It generated domestic sales of 59 units against 86 units in January 2022. However, SDF tractors saw a decline in domestic sales by 31.40%.
