Mercedes-Benz and Setra have long been industry leaders in the development of bus/tour coach safety and driver-aid technologies.

Daimler Buses has reported that it has educated nearly 20,000 drivers since Daimler-Benz AG held the first Germany-wide safety training session for bus drivers in March 1993.
The driver is critical to the safety of any bus/tour coach excursion. The Omniplus service brand's driver safety training for Mercedes-Benz and Setra drivers is a vital component of Daimler Buses' comprehensive safety approach.
Mercedes-Benz and Setra have long been industry leaders in the development of bus/tour coach safety and driver-aid technologies. Yet, the most important aspect of accident-free bus/tour coach driving is the person behind the wheel - the driver. Daimler Buses thus promotes technical growth through comprehensive and practice-oriented driver training.
Driver safety instruction has been regularly enhanced by training professionals since early 1993. Beginning in 1994 as a professional training school for touring coach drivers, a specific training course for city bus drivers was added to the program.
Initially, a complete three-day training course, Omniplus' safety instruction is now staggered. The program spans from a one-day intensive course on-site at the bus/tour bus firm (Basic safety training) or at other driving safety centres (Basic Plus safety training) to two days of full premium safety training.
On request, training is available in Mercedes-Benz and Setra automobiles, as well as the customer's own vehicles. The following applies to everyone: A effective course requires small groups and a lot of practical training.
The goal of the safety training course is to recognize risks, avoid dangers, and effectively handle risky situations when they do occur, just as it was back then. These courses are taught by experienced bus/tour coach driving instructors.
Getting to know vehicle proportions better through handling exercises, stopping and avoiding objects on different road conditions at varying speeds, and braking and steering when cornering at different speeds are all part of the practical section.
What began in 1993 with a specific driver safety training course for bus/tour coach drivers has long since become a self-evident aspect of advanced professional training. Experts agree that, in addition to the launch and ongoing development of cutting-edge safety and driver assistance systems, the training of almost 20,000 drivers has now prevented accidents and made driving buses/tour buses even safer.
In addition to driver safety training, Omniplus driver training course professionals provide a variety of other courses and advanced training events for bus/tour coach drivers.
