This fleet of electric buses is expected to play an important role in providing intra-city transportation to an expected 2 million devotees in Ayodhya.
In a significant move towards sustainable and eco-friendly transportation, GreenCell Mobility has announced the deployment of 150 intra-city electric buses to Ayodhya to facilitate the transportation needs of devotees during the Ram Mandir consecration ceremony.
This fleet of electric buses is expected to play an important role in providing intra-city transportation to an expected 2 million devotees in Ayodhya. The service will be available from mid-January until the end of February, covering the ceremony day and the days that follow. The project is in line with the goal of the Uttar Pradesh state government to promote sustainable energy and reduce carbon emissions.
The flag-off ceremony for these buses was held on January 14th in Ayodhya, with Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath launching the fleet. The symbolic gesture indicates the state's dedication to ecologically friendly modes of transportation and sustainable activities.
GreenCell Mobility CEO and Managing Director Devndra Chawla expressed excitement about the collaboration, adding, "The government's decision to use electric buses for this grand occasion aligns perfectly with our vision. It's not only about transporting passengers; it's about becoming a part of a larger movement toward a cleaner, greener future."
GreenCell Mobility, a major player in the electric mobility sector, has already deployed over 700 buses in Uttar Pradesh, saving over 22,000 tonnes of exhaust gases each year. The addition of 150 buses for the Ayodhya ceremony is a big step forward in the brand's commitment to sustainable transportation and continued collaboration with the state.
GreenCell Mobility's deployment seeks to not only address the urgent transportation needs of the Ram Mandir consecration but also to contribute to the long-term goal of electrifying public transportation in Uttar Pradesh. The decision is expected to strengthen the brand's relationships with the state and help the state's efforts toward a cleaner, greener future.
