The Basmati rice market has once again shown a bullish trend, with prices of several major varieties increasing across different market lines. The biggest rise has been seen in Rajasthan, where 1509 Creamy Sela Sathi gained ₹250 per quintal. Prices of selected 1718, 1885 and PB1 varieties have also moved higher in Punjab-Haryana and Madhya Pradesh.
However, the increase has not been uniform across all varieties. Several important Basmati grades, especially 1121 and 1718 Steam varieties, remained stable. Some non-Basmati varieties also recorded gains, while a few prices stayed unchanged or declined.
The Rajasthan line saw the strongest movement in 1509 Creamy Sela Sathi, making it one of the fastest-rising varieties in the market.
1509 Creamy Sela Grade A: Stable at ₹8,750 per quintal
1509 Creamy Sela Sathi: Up ₹250 to ₹8,100 per quintal
1718 Creamy Sela: Up ₹50 to ₹9,450 per quintal
1847 Creamy Sela: Stable at ₹8,800 per quintal
In the Rajasthan non-Basmati market, Sugandha Creamy Sela declined by ₹100 and was recorded at ₹7,700 per quintal.
The sharp ₹250 increase in 1509 Sathi Creamy Sela indicates strong buying support for this variety compared with several other grades that remained stable.
Several major Basmati varieties in the Punjab-Haryana line remained unchanged.
1121 Steam Grade A+: ₹9,950 per quintal
1121 Steam Grade A: ₹9,900 per quintal
1121 Golden Sela Grade A+: ₹10,500 per quintal
1121 Golden Sela Grade A: ₹9,950 per quintal
1121 Creamy Sela: ₹9,650 per quintal

These rates show that the key 1121 and 1718 varieties are currently holding steady despite the positive trend seen in selected Basmati grades.
Some varieties recorded fresh gains in the Punjab-Haryana line.
1509 Steam Grade A+: ₹9,050 per quintal
1509 Steam Grade A: ₹9,000 per quintal
Meanwhile, 1509 Golden Sela Grade A+ increased by ₹50. Both 1509 Creamy Sela Grade A+ and Grade A also gained ₹50 each.
The 1885 variety also received good support:
1885 Steam Grade A+: ₹9,600 per quintal, up ₹100
1885 Steam Grade A: ₹9,550 per quintal, up ₹100
1885 Creamy Sela: Stable at ₹9,450 per quintal
The rise in 1885 Steam prices points to improved buying interest in this variety.
The Punjab-Haryana non-Basmati market also witnessed gains in several varieties.
Taj Steam: Up ₹50 to ₹7,500 per quintal
Taj Sela: Stable at ₹7,300 per quintal
PR14 New Sela: Up ₹25 to ₹4,600 per quintal
RH10 New Steam Grade A+: Up ₹50 to ₹7,150 per quintal
RH10 New Steam Grade A: Up ₹50 to ₹7,100 per quintal
RH10 Golden: Up ₹200 to ₹7,200 per quintal
RH10 New Sela: Up ₹100 to ₹6,900 per quintal
Among these, RH10 Golden registered one of the stronger gains with an increase of ₹200 per quintal.
The Madhya Pradesh line also reported a positive trend in selected Basmati varieties.
1509 Creamy Sela Grade A: Stable at ₹8,700 per quintal
1718 Creamy Sela: Up ₹50 to ₹9,450 per quintal
PB1 Golden Sela: Up ₹100 to ₹9,100 per quintal
PB1 Creamy Sela: Up ₹100 to ₹8,600 per quintal
PB1 Raw: Up ₹100 to ₹9,400 per quintal
The rise in all three listed PB1 varieties shows improved price support in the Madhya Pradesh market.
In the Uttar Pradesh line, 1509 Steam New Sathi Grade A+ increased by ₹50 and reached ₹7,850 per quintal.
In the state's non-Basmati market, the following varieties remained stable:
PR-26 Sathi Raw: ₹3,900 per quintal
Sona Masuri Steam: ₹5,300 per quintal
Noori Steam: ₹6,200 per quintal
The latest market trend suggests that buying support is available for selected Basmati varieties, but a broad-based rally across the entire market is yet to emerge. The biggest movement has been recorded in Rajasthan's 1509 Sathi Creamy Sela, while 1885 and several PB1 varieties have also gained.
At the same time, important varieties such as 1121 and 1718 Steam have largely remained stable in the Punjab-Haryana line. This indicates that the current market strength is selective rather than spread across every major variety.
