The 'Women-centric Cabin Trim Line' initiative is unique in its approach as it empowers women to take the lead in various key areas of the manufacturing process, from production to sourcing, quality assurance, and production planning.

The cabin trim line will function as a manufacturing line for painted vehicle cabins. This line ensures the integration of essential components such as the steering system, windshields, windows, electronic elements, headlights, and driver seats, resulting in fully functional and ready-to-use vehicle interiors.

Ashok Leyland, a leading commercial vehicle manufacturer, has taken a bold step towards gender diversity and equity in the manufacturing industry with the inauguration of a new 'Women-centric Cabin Trim Line' at its Pantnagar plant.

This step represents the company’s efforts to promote gender diversity and equity, as well as to recruit more women to the manufacturing industry. This project is distinguished by its leadership structure, in which women are in charge of all aspects of manufacturing, sourcing, quality assurance, and production planning. The initiative will provide women employees with opportunities to make significant contributions to the production process.

During this festive season, the Women-centric Cabin Trim Line was launched to pay tribute to women, exemplifying the determination and courage of women around the country. The newly launched line will meet the increasing demand for large-size cabins for commercial vehicles. This line can assemble 56 cabins per shift and will run in two shifts.

"The new, women-centric line at our Pantnagar plant reinforces our belief in creating a more inclusive ecosystem at Ashok Leyland," stated Shenu Agarwal, MD & CEO of Ashok Leyland.

Ashok Leyland has always prioritized diversity and inclusion, ensuring that everyone has equal access to opportunities regardless of gender or ethnicity. The primary aim is to improve women's abilities and employability, allowing them to follow their aspirations. This project will provide chances for a more diversified workforce and promote equality.

"The Women-centric Cabin Trim Line exemplifies our commitment to building a more diverse manufacturing organization that challenges conventions and stereotypes, particularly within the historically male-dominated manufacturing sector," stated Ganesh Mani, COO of Ashok Leyland.
