Ashok Leyland, one of India's leading small commercial vehicle (SCV) manufacturers, has introduced the Bada Dost i5, a new SCV goods carrier with cutting-edge technologies designed to satisfy dynamic logistical needs.
The new truck comes in two models, LS and LX, with a variety of colors, including extreme blue, solid grey, Irish cream, and Casablanca white.
Super 5 Benefits for Customers
The new Ashok Leyland Bada Dost i5 pickup provides consumers with the super 5 benefits: mileage, payload capacity, rate per kilometre, return on investment, and piece of mind. Ashok Leyland's LS variant starts at Rs 10.73 lakh and the LX variant at Rs 10.98 lakh.
Ashok Leyland Bada Dost I5 Pickup Performance
The Bada Dost i5 comes with a 1.5-liter three-cylinder turbocharged intercooler diesel engine. The 1478 cc engine produces 80 horsepower (59 kW) at 3300 rpm and 190 Nm at 1600-2400 rpm. This cargo pickup has a 240 mm diameter diaphragm single dry plate clutch to engage and disengage the power transmission.
Gear shifting is smooth and effortless thanks to the fully synchronized manual gearbox with five forward and one reverse gear. The new bada dost pick up also features a cable shift mechanism, which improves gear change precision and makes driving more fun.
It has a top speed of 80 kmph, and its vacuum-assisted hydraulic brakes with load-sensing proportioning valve (LSPV) automatically change the brake pressure dependent on the load condition.
Dimensions and Load Capacity
The new Bada Dost i5 model has an overall length of 5025 mm, a width of 1842 mm, and a height of 2061 mm. This Ashok Leyland pickup can carry market weights of up to 2125 kg on its 2951 mm long, 1750 mm wide, and 490 mm high cargo deck.
Its gross vehicle weight is 3800 kg. In addition, the pick up truck has a 945 mm loading platform height, which makes freight loading and unloading easier. Its 2590 mm wheelbase contributes to a sturdy foundation for the vehicle, ensuring smooth freight movement.
It is available in three body variants - CBC (cowl body chassis), FSD (full side deck), and HSD (high side deck) - to fulfill the wide range of logistics requirements.
Features and Safety
The Bada Dost i5 cargo model has driver and co-driver seating capacity and a roomy cabin with utility features such as a heater and air conditioning.
This latest vehicle has a power-assisted tiltable steering column, which ensures the best-in-class turning circle radius. It includes a remote central locking mechanism that ensures the vehicle is securely locked.
The Bada Dost i5 features suspension technologies that ensure a safe and enjoyable ride. The front has 2-stage overslung parabolic 3-leaf springs, and the back has 2-stage semi-elliptic 6-leaf springs.
Even on uneven roads, this combination improves the vehicle's handling and hauling capacity. This diesel truck, equipped with 7.00 R 15 LT flotation light truck tube tyres, is capable of pulling and carrying high loads.
