The MoU was signed at PT Pindad’s headquarters in Bandung, Indonesia. Ashok Leyland is the flagship company of the Hinduja Group, while PT Pindad is Indonesia’s state-owned manufacturer of defence and industrial equipment.
The agreement was formalised in the presence of Prof. Sigit P. Santosa, Chief Executive Officer of PT Pindad; Mr Amandeep Singh, President - International Operations, Defence, LCV & PSB at Ashok Leyland; and Lord Tariq, Advisor to the Board at Hinduja Auto.

The collaboration brings together Ashok Leyland’s experience in electric commercial vehicles and defence mobility with PT Pindad’s strong engineering expertise and local manufacturing capabilities.
The MoU aligns with Indonesia’s efforts to promote sustainable transportation and modernise its defence systems. The focus will be on energy-efficient mobility solutions and locally manufactured defence platforms to support long-term national development goals.
Amandeep Singh stated that Ashok Leyland’s electric vehicle arm, Switch Mobility, has developed electric buses with global applications. He added that this partnership will help design products specifically suited to Indonesia’s terrain, infrastructure, and operational conditions.
Ashok Leyland is a global leader in commercial vehicles, electric mobility, and defence solutions, with operations in more than 50 countries. Its subsidiary, Switch Mobility, focuses on electric buses and electric light commercial vehicles.
PT Pindad is Indonesia’s leading defence manufacturer, known for armoured vehicles, tactical platforms, and advanced defence technologies, playing a key role in the country’s defence and industrial ecosystem.
