Mahindra ZEO Price in India 2026
The Mahindra ZEO was launched in October 2024 with a starting ex-showroom price of ₹7.52 lakh. For 2026, listed prices are higher and currently fall in the approximate ₹7.88 lakh to ₹8.47 lakh range, depending on the battery and body configuration.
Mahindra ZEO Variant | Battery | Approx. 2026 Ex-Showroom Price |
18.4 kWh | ₹7.88 lakh | |
21.3 kWh | ₹8.06 lakh | |
18.4 kWh | ₹8.19 lakh | |
21.3 kWh | ₹8.37-8.47 lakh |
Prices can vary between listings and locations, so buyers should treat these figures as a benchmark and obtain a written dealer quotation before booking.
Mahindra ZEO On-Road Price
The final on-road price includes the ex-showroom price, insurance, registration and applicable state-level charges. Since commercial EV taxation and registration policies can differ between states, there is no single nationwide on-road price.
As a planning estimate, an additional 3-6% over the ex-showroom price would put a V2 FSD at roughly ₹8.3-8.6 lakh, although the actual amount should be confirmed with the dealers first hand when buying it.
Mahindra ZEO Variants: V1, V2, FSD and Delivery Van?
The ZEO range gives buyers two battery choices and two body configurations.
The V1 gets an 18.4 kWh battery, while the V2 uses a larger 21.3 kWh battery. The V2 is particularly useful for operators covering longer daily routes or working with frequent stop-and-go loads.
The second choice is between the FSD and Delivery Van versions. The FSD gets an open flat side deck and is more flexible for different types of cargo. The Delivery Van comes with a factory-fitted enclosed body offering approximately 5.6 cubic metres of cargo volume, making it better suited to courier, e-commerce, FMCG and other goods that need protection from weather and handling conditions.
For routes crossing roughly 110 km a day, the additional battery capacity of the V2 can make the higher purchase price worthwhile.
Battery, Motor and Performance
The Mahindra ZEO uses LFP which stands for Lithium Iron Phosphate (also referred to as lithium ferro phosphate) cylindrical battery cells with active liquid cooling, an important feature for a vehicle designed to operate in India's varied climatic conditions. The battery is also IP67 rated and complies with AIS038 requirements.
Power comes from a 30 kW permanent magnet synchronous motor producing 114 Nm of peak torque and 60 Nm of continuous torque. The motor is paired with a single-speed transmission, while Eco and Power modes allow the driver to adjust the vehicle's operating characteristics.
Specification | Mahindra ZEO |
Battery | 18.4 kWh / 21.3 kWh |
Battery Type | LFP cylindrical |
Motor | Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor |
Peak Power | 30 kW |
Peak Torque | 114 Nm |
Top Speed | 60 km/h |
Gradeability | Up to 32% |
Transmission | Single speed |
Drive Modes | Eco and Power |
Turning Radius | 4.3 m |
The 32% gradeability is useful for flyovers, ramps and inclines, while the 4.3-metre turning radius helps the ZEO navigate narrow urban roads and congested delivery areas. Creep Mode is designed to make repeated stop-and-go movement easier, while Hill Hold Assist helps prevent rollback on inclines.
Mahindra ZEO Range and Charging Time
The ZEO offers a claimed range of approximately 135-160 km per charge, depending on the variant and operating conditions. The V2 with its 21.3 kWh battery is rated at around 160 km, while V1 figures are generally listed around 135-145 km.
Actual range will depend on payload, traffic, road conditions, driving style, gradients and use of electrical systems. For commercial operators, the more important question is whether the vehicle can comfortably complete the daily route and return to its charging point.
Charging options include both AC and DC fast charging:
Charging Method | Approx. Charging Time |
3.3 kW AC | Around 7 hours 10 minutes |
6.6 kW AC | Around 3 hours 20 minutes |
DC Fast Charging | 0-80% in around 71 minutes |
Mahindra also states that DC fast charging can add around 100 km of range in approximately 60 minutes. For fleets operating fixed routes, overnight AC charging can work well, while DC charging becomes useful when the vehicle needs to return to work quickly.
Payload, GVW and Cargo Capacity
The Mahindra ZEO offers a maximum payload of up to 765 kg, although actual payload can vary according to the body configuration. An enclosed Delivery Van body, for example, adds weight compared with an open cargo deck.
The ZEO's GVW can reach approximately 1,720 kg, depending on the variant.
Key dimensions include:
Maximum payload: Up to 765 kg
GVW: Up to 1,720 kg
Cargo box length: Around 2,250 mm
Wheelbase: 2,500 mm
Laden ground clearance: 180 mm
Turning radius: 4.3 metres
Delivery Van volume: Around 5.6 cubic metres
Businesses carrying parcels, groceries, FMCG products, vegetables and other urban cargo can therefore use the ZEO for substantial loads while retaining the manoeuvrability needed in city operations.
Features and Safety Technology
Mahindra has equipped the ZEO with several features aimed at making daily commercial operation easier.
The NEMO fleet management system provides information related to vehicle performance, charging, geofencing and service management. The NEMO Driver app can also provide charging-station and dealer-location information.

Safety and convenience features include Hill Hold Assist, Creep Mode, Smart Gear Shifter, an IP67-rated battery and motor, AIS038-compliant high-voltage battery protection and a semi-forward cabin design.
The vehicle can also be equipped with optional driver monitoring and ADAS-related functions, including forward collision warning, pedestrian collision monitoring, headway monitoring and lane departure warning. Driver-focused functions can include fatigue warnings, coaching and real-time cabin alerts. These systems are available through accessories rather than being standard equipment.
Warranty and Ownership Support
One of the ZEO's important ownership advantages is its battery warranty of 7 years or 1,50,000 km.
Mahindra also offers service and ownership programmes. The Safar plan includes roadside assistance and a standard AMC, while Safar Plus adds extended vehicle warranty and Fleet-Connect. The UDAY programme provides ₹10 lakh accidental cover for the driver for three years.
The exact vehicle warranty terms should be confirmed in writing from the dealer before purchase.
Mahindra ZEO EMI and Finance
The actual EMI will depend on the lender, interest rate, down payment, tenure and buyer's credit profile. For illustration, consider a ZEO V2 FSD priced at ₹8.06 lakh with a 10% down payment.
That would leave a loan of approximately ₹7.25 lakh over 60 months.
Interest Rate | Approx. Monthly EMI |
10% | ₹15,400 |
11% | ₹15,760 |
12% | ₹16,130 |
At an 11% interest rate, total interest would be around ₹2.2 lakh. These figures are illustrative and should not be treated as a lender quotation.
Mahindra ZEO Running Cost
Running cost is where an electric mini truck can have a major advantage over a diesel vehicle.
Using an illustrative electricity tariff of ₹8 per unit, the 21.3 kWh battery and approximately 160 km range work out to roughly 0.13 kWh/km before charging losses, or around 0.15 kWh/km after accounting for losses. This puts electricity expenditure at roughly ₹1.2 per km, with a full V2 charge costing approximately ₹170-190.
For comparison, a diesel mini truck returning 18 km/l at ₹90 per litre would cost around ₹5 per km in fuel.
At 100 km per day for 26 days, or 2,600 km a month, the illustrative monthly energy cost for the ZEO would be around ₹3,100 compared with roughly ₹13,000 for diesel. That creates a potential saving of close to ₹10,000 per month, although actual savings depend on electricity tariffs, fuel prices, driving conditions and vehicle utilisation.
Mahindra has also stated potential savings of up to ₹7 lakh over seven years compared with a diesel SCV. This should be viewed as a best-case estimate rather than a guaranteed saving.
The ZEO also eliminates conventional engine-related maintenance such as engine oil, clutch and exhaust-system servicing, although tyres, brakes, suspension and software-related checks still remain part of ownership.
Mahindra ZEO vs Tata Ace EV and Euler Storm EV
The ZEO competes with several electric mini trucks, but each model targets a slightly different load requirement.
Model | Payload | Claimed Range | Approx. Ex-Showroom Price |
Mahindra ZEO | 650-765 kg | 160 km | ₹7.88-8.47 lakh |
600 kg | 154 km | ₹9.21-10.51 lakh
1,000 kg | Around 161 km | Higher segment
1,250 kg | Up to 200 km | ₹9-13 lakh |
The ZEO's major strengths are its pricing, electric powertrain, motor output and cabin-oriented features. However, its payload is lower than one-tonne and 1.25-tonne alternatives.
Therefore, businesses regularly carrying more than 800 kg should consider higher-payload options such as the Ace EV 1000 or Euler Storm EV.
Where Does the Mahindra ZEO Make the Most Sense?
The ZEO is particularly well suited to fixed-route urban and last-mile operations, especially where the vehicle returns to a depot every day for charging.
It can work well for:
E-commerce and courier deliveries
Grocery and dairy distribution
FMCG transportation
Fruits and vegetables
Local retail distribution
Municipal and institutional supply
Parcel feeder routes
Small fleet operations
Urban B2B distribution
The FSD is the more flexible option for businesses carrying different types of cargo, while the Delivery Van is better when goods need an enclosed and protected space.
However, the ZEO becomes less attractive for operators regularly travelling beyond around 150 km per day, carrying loads consistently above 750 kg or operating without reliable overnight charging access.
What Should You Check Before Buying?
Choosing an electric mini truck should not be based only on battery capacity or the advertised range. Businesses should calculate the vehicle's complete operating economics.
Before purchasing, check:
Daily kilometres
Average payload
Real-world range on your route
Electricity tariff
Charging availability
Number of trips per day
Charging time
Maintenance costs
Battery warranty
Local service support
Body configuration
Finance and EMI
Expected ownership period
This gives a much clearer picture of whether the ZEO can actually reduce the cost of your business.

CMV360 Says
The Mahindra ZEO is positioned as a practical electric mini truck for businesses that primarily operate within cities and on short-distance delivery routes. With a payload of up to 765 kg, 135-160 km range, 30 kW motor, 32% gradeability, fast charging and a 7-year/1.5 lakh km battery warranty, it offers a strong combination for urban cargo operations.
Its biggest advantage is not simply the purchase price but the potential reduction in day-to-day running costs. For a business running predictable routes of around 80-120 km a day with access to depot charging, the economics can be particularly attractive.
However, buyers should not assume that the maximum range or payload will always be available in real-world operation. Load, traffic, terrain, charging infrastructure and utilisation all matter.
Ultimately, the right ZEO variant depends on the business. Choose the V1 for shorter routes and lower upfront cost, the V2 when additional range is important, the FSD for cargo flexibility and the Delivery Van when goods need enclosed protection. Before making the final decision, obtain the latest city-specific on-road price, finance quotation, payload confirmation and service details from the dealer.
