Fishermen are advised to avoid sea travel.
The monsoon is not over yet and may bring another round of heavy rains to several parts of India. The Indian Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued alerts for heavy to very heavy rainfall in many states over the next few days. Farmers, travelers, and fishermen have been advised to take necessary precautions.

According to IMD and Skymet Weather reports, heavy to very heavy rainfall is expected in:
Uttarakhand – Very heavy rain likely on 17th September.
Eastern Uttar Pradesh – Heavy rain between 17th to 19th September.
Bihar – Light to moderate rain from 17th to 19th, with heavy rain at isolated places on 17th.
Sub-Himalayan West Bengal & Sikkim – Heavy rain on 17th & 18th September.
Andaman & Nicobar Islands – Heavy rain from 17th to 20th September.
Light to moderate rain is also likely in Jharkhand, West Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Rayalaseema, Telangana, Karnataka, Kerala, and the northeastern states during this week.
Multiple weather systems are currently active across the country:
Cyclonic circulations over North-Central Uttar Pradesh, East Jharkhand, East Vidarbha, and Northeast Assam.
Troughs extending from East Jharkhand to East Bangladesh and from Karnataka to the Comorin area.
These systems are collectively causing widespread rainfall activity across north, east, and central India.
Skymet Weather predicts light rain and cloudy weather for Delhi-NCR on 17th, 18th, and 19th September, with monsoon expected to withdraw soon.
However, IMD suggests no significant rainfall till 21st September, only partly cloudy skies.

Strong winds (30-40 kmph) expected over coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, and Rayalaseema.
Rain likely in Central Maharashtra, Marathwada (17th) and Konkan & Goa (17th-18th).
Assam, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, and other northeastern states will see rain through the week.
Farmers in rain-affected states are advised to:
Make drainage arrangements in advance to avoid waterlogging.
Plan harvesting, sowing, and fertilizer use according to the forecast.
Store seeds, fertilizers, and farm equipment in safe, dry places.
Avoid spraying pesticides or fertilizers during rainfall.
Expect waterlogging and traffic jams in affected cities.
Landslides are possible in Uttarakhand and the Northeast states – avoid hilly travel unless necessary.
Check train and flight status before traveling, as delays and cancellations are possible.
Drive slowly, especially two-wheelers, as roads will be slippery.
Stay away from areas prone to flash floods.
Fishermen are advised not to venture into the sea in the following areas during 17-21 September:
West-central & south-west Arabian Sea
Somalia, Oman, Yemen coasts
South Konkan, Goa coasts
