As the Rabi sowing season begins, the Uttar Pradesh government has launched a special subsidy scheme to support farmers. Under this scheme, farmers can get improved varieties of wheat, gram, mustard, peas, and lentils at up to 50% subsidy. The main aim is to help farmers increase yield and income by using high-quality seeds at half the price.
Through this initiative, farmers can easily purchase improved and certified seed varieties from government agriculture stores at discounted rates.

Certified Wheat Seeds (All Varieties):
Market Price: ₹4,680 per quintal
Subsidy: ₹2,340 per quintal
Farmer’s Price: ₹2,340 per quintal
Basic Wheat Variety (DBW 303):
Market Price: ₹4,872 per quintal
Subsidy: ₹2,436 per quintal
Farmer’s Price: ₹2,436 per quintal
Farmers can now buy improved wheat seeds at nearly half the original rate, ensuring better yield and productivity.

Market Price: ₹11,147 per quintal
Subsidy: ₹5,500 per quintal

This improved rapeseed variety helps farmers gain better oilseed production at affordable prices.

Farmers can now purchase mustard and rye seeds at nearly half the cost through this subsidy support.

High-quality flax seeds will now be available to farmers at a reduced cost to promote oilseed diversification.

This subsidy will help farmers improve their pulse yield at a much lower input cost.

Certified lentil seeds are being offered at a 50% discounted rate, encouraging farmers to cultivate more pulses.

Improved pea seed varieties will be available at reduced prices, promoting better quality and yield.
The Uttar Pradesh Agriculture Department has made it easy for farmers to access subsidized seeds. Farmers can visit their nearest Government Agriculture Seed Store to purchase the required seeds.
Farmers must provide their thumb impression on the POS machine at the seed store.
A slip will be generated showing the farmer’s payable amount (subsidy-adjusted price).
Only the amount mentioned on the slip should be paid — no extra charges are required.
Seeds will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis.

This 50% seed subsidy scheme by the Uttar Pradesh government is a timely support for farmers ahead of the Rabi season.
