Step 4: During heavy rains, excess water flows out through these channels. In dry weather, the furrows help supply moisture to the roots.
This ensures that the crop does not rot in excess water and does not dry out during low rainfall.
To promote smart and climate-resilient farming, both state and central governments provide a subsidy of 40% to 50% on the purchase of raised bed planter machines. For example:

Small farmers are given special priority under these subsidy plans.
In many states, farmers can apply online through the Agricultural Machinery Grant Portal to receive the subsidy.
The average cost of a Raised Bed Planter machine ranges from ₹70,000 to ₹1,00,000. After receiving the government subsidy:
Farmers usually need to pay only ₹30,000 to ₹50,000.
This makes it an affordable investment for both small and large-scale farmers.
