The Madhya Pradesh government’s Samadhan Yojana 2025-26 is offering big relief to electricity consumers with pending bills. Under this scheme, consumers can pay their outstanding electricity bills in one lump sum and get up to 100% waiver on the surcharge. The scheme is receiving a strong response across the state.

In the first phase of the scheme, consumers have deposited a principal amount of ₹653.6 million, while ₹281.54 million worth of surcharge has been waived. A total of 12,77,753 defaulting consumers have already registered and benefited from this initiative.
Madhya Pradesh Energy Minister Pradyuman Singh Tomar announced that due to high participation, the first phase of Samadhan Yojana has been extended till January 31, 2026. The scheme, which started on November 3, 2025, has helped lakhs of consumers get major relief by availing maximum surcharge waiver.
The Energy Minister has urged consumers who have electricity bill arrears of more than three months to join the first phase. By making a one-time lump sum payment, consumers can get the highest possible surcharge waiver, making it a golden opportunity for those facing financial stress due to old pending bills.
The scheme has shown positive results across all three power distribution companies:
Central Region Power Distribution Company
Registered consumers: 4,02,593
Principal deposited: ₹411.49 crore
Surcharge waived: ₹218.44 crore
Eastern Region Power Distribution Company
Registered consumers: 4,39,397
Principal deposited: ₹130.50 crore
Surcharge waived: ₹45.41 crore
Western Region Power Distribution Company
Registered consumers: 4,35,763
Principal deposited: ₹111.61 crore
Surcharge waived: ₹17.69 crore
Samadhan Yojana 2025-26 is aimed at giving relief to consumers who have electricity dues pending for more than three months. The scheme follows a simple rule: pay early and get maximum benefit.
First Phase: November 3, 2025, to January 31, 2026
Surcharge waiver: 60% to 100% on lump sum payment
Second Phase: February 1 to February 28, 2026
Surcharge waiver: 50% to 90%
Consumers get the highest discount in the first phase, while the benefit reduces slightly in the second phase.

During registration:
Domestic and agricultural consumers need to deposit 10% of the total outstanding amount
Non-domestic and industrial consumers need to deposit 25% of the total outstanding amount
