APEDA hosted Indian Mango Mania 2025 in Abu Dhabi’s Lulu Hypermarket.
Over 12,000 metric tonnes of mangoes worth $20 million were exported to the UAE in 2024.
The festival showcased mango varieties from Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh.
Mango delicacies included both traditional Indian dishes and global fusion recipes.
Event supported by APEDA, Indian Embassy, and Lulu Group to boost mango exports.
In a major effort to promote Indian mangoes in global markets, the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA), under the Ministry of Commerce, organized the Indian Mango Mania 2025 in Abu Dhabi.
The colourful mango festival was held at LuLu Hypermarket in Khalidiyah Mall and was aimed at showcasing India’s diverse mango varieties to the Gulf region, where Indian fruits enjoy a strong and growing demand.

The United Arab Emirates continues to be the largest importer of Indian mangoes. In 2024, India exported over 12,000 metric tonnes of mangoes worth $20 million to the UAE. With initiatives like Mango Mania 2025, this figure is expected to grow further in 2025.
The festival highlighted some of India’s most iconic mango types, including GI-tagged and region-specific varieties such as:
Dasheri
Banarasi Langda
Amrapali
Chausa
Sunderja
Bharat Bhog
Mallika
Lakshman Bhog
These mangoes represent the rich agricultural heritage of states like Uttar Pradesh, Bihar, West Bengal, and Madhya Pradesh.
India’s Ambassador to the UAE, Sunjay Sudhir, inaugurated the event along with Lulu Group Chairman Yusuff Ali M.A., APEDA officials, and representatives from the Indian Embassy.
Sunjay Sudhir praised Lulu Group’s contribution in promoting Indian fruits globally and applauded APEDA’s consistent efforts in boosting agricultural exports. He said,
“Through this mango festival, we bring the taste of India to homes across the Gulf.”
The Mango Mania festival offered visitors an immersive experience of India’s mango culture. Apart from fresh fruit displays, the event featured a wide variety of mango-themed delicacies such as:
Mango pastries, Swiss rolls, and macaroons
Traditional dishes like mango pulao, fish curry, and payasam
Fusion recipes including mango sushi, mango-stuffed chicken, and mango chapli kebabs
Pickles, preserves, juices, and smoothies
APEDA Chairman Abhishek Dev shared a message from India, highlighting how the festival is not only a celebration but also a trade enabler. He stated:
“This initiative showcases India’s mango diversity while opening up new trade opportunities.”
He also noted that APEDA facilitated airlifting mangoes from major producing states, directly supporting Indian farmers and helping them access international markets.
This festival once again highlights India’s strength in mango cultivation and its commitment to strengthening ties with key global markets like the UAE. With growing demand and high-quality produce, Indian mangoes are set to become even more popular on the world stage.
