Millet procurement starts early from September 23.
Farmers earn Rs 2,775 per quintal (Rs 2,200 + Rs 575 DBT).
92 purchase centers across Haryana for easy access.
Compensation scheme applicable even with private traders.
Payments made directly via DBT for transparency and efficiency.
The Haryana government has started the procurement of millet, offering farmers a profit of Rs 2,775 per quintal. Under this scheme, procurement agencies will pay Rs 2,200 per quintal, while the government will directly transfer Rs 575 per quintal into farmers bank accounts. The move aims to ensure farmers receive fair prices and full benefits of the Minimum Support Price (MSP).
Originally planned to start on October 1, the procurement has been advanced to September 23. This decision was taken considering increased crop arrivals and the convenience of farmers. This year, 5,06,313 farmers have registered on the 'Meri Fasal Mera Byora' portal, reflecting strong participation in the scheme.
A total of 92 mandis and purchase centers have been set up across the state. Millet procurement is being conducted through HAFED and the Haryana State Warehousing Corporation. Previously, millet was procured at Rs 2,150 per quintal, with farmers receiving Rs 625 per quintal as compensation under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana to match the MSP of Rs 2,775.
Following a market review, procurement agencies will now buy millet at Rs 2,200 per quintal, which is Rs 50 higher than last year. An additional Rs 575 per quintal will be provided directly to farmers under the Bhavantar Bharpai Yojana. The Central Government has declared the MSP of millet for the Kharif marketing season 2025-26 as Rs 2,775 per quintal.
Even if private traders purchase millet from farmers at prices above Rs 2,200 per quintal via the e-procurement portal, the government will still provide Rs 575 per quintal compensation. This ensures farmers never sell below the MSP and receive fair prices for their crops.
The payment under this scheme will be made directly into farmers’ accounts via the DBT system. This method ensures a transparent, corruption-free process, allowing farmers to receive the full value of their crops and strengthening their economic independence.
The early start of procurement, increased purchase price, and Price Difference Compensation Scheme collectively support Haryana’s millet farmers, making them financially secure and self-reliant. Farmers are encouraged to participate fully and take advantage of the scheme to boost their income.

The Haryana government’s early millet procurement and increased support price represent a significant step in protecting farmers’ incomes. By combining higher purchase rates, direct compensation, and transparent DBT payments, the initiative ensures no farmer suffers losses. The scheme encourages millet cultivation, strengthens financial security, and empowers farmers economically. With easy access to 92 centers and support even for private sales, this program is set to positively impact millions of farmers across the state.
