Farmers Can Now Book Urea and DAP Online from Home: Rajasthan Launches New Digital Fertilizer Booking System

Key Highlights

  • Farmers can now book urea and DAP online.

  • Pilot project started in Sirohi and Rajsamand.

  • Digital token remains valid for 48 hours.

  • Farmer Registry will stop black marketing.

  • 86.66 lakh Farmer IDs already created.

In a major relief for farmers, the Rajasthan government has launched a new digital fertilizer booking system that allows farmers to book subsidized fertilizers such as urea, DAP, and other fertilizers online from the comfort of their homes. The initiative aims to eliminate long queues at fertilizer shops, reduce unnecessary hassles, and stop black marketing and hoarding of subsidized fertilizers.

The new system has been introduced under the Farmer Registry-based Framework for Fertilizer Sales (FFS), developed as part of the Government of India's AgriStack scheme. Following the directions of Chief Minister Bhajan Lal Sharma, the system has been launched as a pilot project in Sirohi and Rajsamand districts from June 25, 2026.

Pilot Project Begins in Sirohi and Rajsamand

The Agriculture Department has started the first phase of the FFS system in Sirohi and Rajsamand districts. Agriculture Commissioner Naresh Kumar Goyal said that although the central government provides a large subsidy on fertilizers, complaints of black marketing, hoarding, and misuse of fertilizers for non-agricultural purposes have been common.

The new farmer registry-based system is expected to solve these issues by making fertilizer distribution more transparent and accountable. If the pilot project is successful, the government plans to expand the system across Rajasthan.

Farmers Can Book Fertilizers from Home

With the new digital system, farmers no longer need to visit fertilizer shops repeatedly or stand in long queues. They can now book urea, DAP, and other subsidized fertilizers online using their mobile phones or by visiting the nearest e-Mitra centre.

After completing the booking, the system will generate a digital token. Farmers can use this token to collect their fertilizer from the nearest registered fertilizer dealer within the specified time.

Digital Token Will Be Valid for 48 Hours

The digital token issued after booking will remain valid for 48 hours. Farmers must visit the registered fertilizer dealer and collect their fertilizer within this period by showing the token.

If the fertilizer is not collected within 48 hours, the token will automatically expire, and the farmer will have to make a fresh online booking. This system will prevent unnecessary bookings and avoid blocking fertilizer stocks.

Farmer Registry to Ensure Transparency

The entire fertilizer distribution process will be linked with the Farmer Registry. This will ensure that only genuine and eligible farmers receive subsidized fertilizers.

The system will help reduce fake records, paperwork errors, and black marketing. It will also enable real-time monitoring of fertilizer stocks and distribution, helping authorities ensure timely availability of fertilizers across different areas.

Rajasthan Leads in Farmer ID Creation

Rajasthan is making steady progress in digital agriculture. According to the Agriculture Department, Farmer IDs have already been created for 86.66 lakh farmers across the state.

This database will be used for the new FFS system, making the fertilizer distribution process completely digital and transparent. At the same time, information related to retail fertilizer sellers at the village and block levels in the selected districts is being updated with LGD codes on the IFMS portal. Fertilizer dealers and government officials are also being trained to operate the new digital system smoothly.

Key Benefits for Farmers

The new FFS system is expected to offer several major benefits to farmers across Rajasthan.

Farmers will be able to book fertilizers from home without standing in long queues, saving both time and travel expenses. They will also receive advance information about fertilizer availability, making it easier to plan their purchases.

The system will help control black marketing, hoarding, and misuse of subsidized fertilizers while ensuring that government subsidies reach genuine and eligible farmers. With digital monitoring and transparent distribution, the government aims to make fertilizer supply more efficient, accountable, and farmer-friendly, providing significant relief to millions of farmers in the state.

Rajasthan's new Farmer Registry-based FFS system is a major step towards digital agriculture. It will make fertilizer distribution more transparent, reduce black marketing, and save farmers from long queues. With online booking, digital tokens, and real-time monitoring, genuine farmers will receive subsidized fertilizers more efficiently. If the pilot project succeeds in Sirohi and Rajsamand, the government is expected to expand this farmer-friendly digital system across the entire state.
