The Indian automotive sector is witnessing a significant shift towards electrification, and this transformation has now extended to the agricultural sector. AutoNxt has launched India’s first domestic electric tractor, the AutoNxt X45, marking a new era in sustainable farming. The launch event, graced by Maharashtra Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, highlights the growing importance of electric vehicles (EVs) in various sectors.

The AutoNxt X45 is designed to cater to various industries, including agriculture, metal manufacturing, construction, airport operations, and biomass-related work. One of its standout features is its complete electrification, offering significant savings on diesel costs. Additionally, the maintenance of this electric tractor is highly economical, making it an attractive option for farmers and industrial operators alike.
Compared to traditional diesel tractors, the AutoNxt X45 boasts a much lower running cost. Its electric motor delivers high torque and intense acceleration, ensuring top-notch performance in various tasks.
In terms of design, the AutoNxt X45 resembles a traditional tractor, but with modern enhancements tailored for heavy-duty work. Kaustubh Dhonde, CEO of AutoNxt, emphasized that the tractor is built to handle all agricultural tasks in India, making it a crucial tool for reducing farming costs.
One of the major advantages of the AutoNxt X45 is its quiet operation. Unlike diesel tractors, which are known for their loud engines, this electric tractor operates silently, making it ideal for use in residential areas and noise-sensitive environments.
The AutoNxt X45 is equipped with a battery life cycle of 3000, meaning it can easily last between 8 to 10 years, depending on usage, load, and temperature conditions. The tractor is powered by a 32 KW electric motor that produces a maximum output of 45 HP. It comes with a 35 KWHr battery pack, which can work for up to 8 hours on a single charge, covering about 8 acres of field.
The range may decrease slightly for heavy-duty tasks, but the tractor can still operate for at least 6 hours on a single charge. The company offers two charging options: a regular single-phase charger that takes about 6 hours to fully charge the battery and a three-phase charger that reduces charging time to just 3 hours. The tractor has a loading capacity of 10-15 tonnes.
The AutoNxt X45 is priced starting at Rs 15.00 lakh. However, this price does not include the subsidies available for electric vehicles, which vary by state. After applying the applicable subsidies, the cost of the tractor could be reduced further, making it more accessible to farmers and businesses.

With its robust design, powerful performance, and economic benefits, it is set to play a crucial role in the future of farming and industrial operations in India.
