It is stated that crop flattening is more possible if there are strong winds and rains, or if the fields have been watered.

Several regions across the nation, notably Uttar Pradesh, Delhi NCR, and Uttarakhand, have experienced changes in weather patterns. Rain and hailstorms hit various locations, including Noida, on Saturday morning. As a result, the temperature has once again dipped.
Farmers in Punjab and Haryana are concerned about the possibility of light to heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, lightning, and strong winds from March 17-20. Farmers are unsure whether to irrigate various kharif crops, particularly wheat, according to a meteorological department advisory.
It is also noted that crop flattening can occur if farmers have recently irrigated the field and a high wind blows.
On Thursday night and Friday morning, there were reports of severe winds in certain regions of the states. The crops were flattened, only on a minor scale. It was time for the final watering, which had been anticipated for some time due to the hot weather.
Before, on March 16th, there had been reports of mild to moderate rainfall in various parts of Punjab. The temperature in the state is expected to decline by 2-4 degrees throughout the next 2-3 days.
The General Agromet Advise includes refraining from using irrigation and chemical spray, maintaining drainage arrangements, and keeping harvested crops in a secure location.
Similar weather is expected to prevail in UP for the next three days, according to the Meteorological Department. The Meteorological Department has also issued yellow and orange rain and hailstorm warnings in a number of districts.
