The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has played an important role in linking the Prime Minister directly with beneficiaries, offering a forum for debate and feedback on the ground-level execution of various policies.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lauded the efforts of Gurdev Singh, a farmer from Haridwar, for his remarkable achievement in doubling his income through the Matasya Sampada Yojna. The interaction took place during the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, a nationwide initiative aimed at ensuring the saturation of government flagship schemes to reach all targeted beneficiaries promptly.
The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra has played an important role in linking the Prime Minister directly with beneficiaries, offering a forum for debate and feedback on the ground-level execution of various policies.
Thousands of beneficiaries from different parts of the country participated in the event, along with Union Ministers, Members of Parliament (MPs), Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs), and local-level representatives.
Gurdev Singh, a resident of Haridwar, drew special attention during the video conferencing session. PM Modi greeted him with the traditional 'Har Har Gange,' a respectful greeting in the region, particularly along the banks of the Ganges river, including Haridwar and Rishikesh. The gathering responded with an echoing chorus of 'Har Har Gange.'
Gurdev Singh is a farmer and actively engaged in the fisheries sector. His success story showcases the positive impact of government initiatives like the Matasya Sampada Yojna, which focuses on enhancing income and productivity in the fisheries sector.
The Prime Minister praised Singh for his dedication and success in doubling his income, emphasizing the transformative power of such schemes in improving the lives of individuals and communities.

During his interaction with the Prime Minister, Singh explained how he used the Pradhan Mantri Matsya Sampada Yojana (PMMSY) to double his income. He went on to say that he used to make 60,000 rupees from his one-acre plot, but now that he has a fishery, he can earn 1.5 lakh rupees from the same land. While researching government projects, the Prime Minister lauded him for his creativity.
The PMMSY seeks to bring about the Blue Revolution in India through sustainable and responsible fisheries development. It also focuses on gaps in fish production and productivity, quality, technology, post-harvest infrastructure and management, value chain modernization and strengthening, traceability, developing a strong fisheries management framework, and fisher welfare.
This interaction highlighted the government's commitment to reaching every corner of the country and ensuring the effective implementation of welfare programs. The Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra continues to be a crucial platform for promoting direct communication between the leadership and the beneficiaries, boosting a spirit of progress and development across the nation.
