VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV), a prominent player in the commercial vehicle industry, has taken a significant step towards technological advancement and skill enhancement by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with the prestigious institute Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Indore. This collaboration marks a pivotal step towards innovation and driving progress in the field of commercial vehicles.
VE Commercial Vehicles (VECV) has inked a five-year Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with IIT Indore (IITI). The collaboration, which highlights the expanding link between the Indian automotive industry and academia, will allow the flow of scientific information between VECV and IIT Indore, as well as establish channels for the development of skills essential for the rapidly modernizing automotive industry.
It will also make it easier for VECV personnel to pursue MTech, MS(R), and PhD degrees at IIT Indore. Prof. Suhas S. Joshi, Director of IIT Indore, and Mr Rajinder Singh Sachdeva, Chief Operating Officer of VE Commercial Vehicles signed the Memorandum of Understanding.
"This is a VECV-sponsored program for its employees. We will conduct a rigorous internal screening process and plan to exchange roughly 100 students and employees over the course of five years. This MoU will also improve collaboration in research and academia in mutually beneficial areas," stated Rajinder Singh Sachdeva, Chief Operating Officer, VE Commercial Vehicles.
In the first year of the MTech program, VECV workers will be expected to complete online coursework. In the second year, project work will be carried out either in VECV's Pithampur and Bhopal plants or at IIT Indore under the supervision of the IIT Indore thesis supervisor(s).
"This cooperation will cover joint research, scientific mobility, exchange of scientific and technical information, exploitation of research results, and technology transfer. It will also aid in the training of VECV staff, the internship of IITI students, and the organization of workshops, research, and consultancy projects," said Prof. Suhas S. Joshi, Director of IIT Indore.
