The Model V0.1 truck prototype is India's first centre-mounted steering wheel electric truck, with active safety features, the highest range, and a spacious interior built for optimal visibility.

Tresa Motors, a Bengaluru-based firm started in 2022 by Rohan Shravan and Ravi Machani, specializes in industrial design, electric powertrains, and battery-related technology for electric vehicles.
As the use of logistics apps grows in India, it has created a massive market ranging from heavy hauliers to last-mile delivery and everything in between. While the majority of current electric CV players have focused on short-range (about 100 kilometres) and light to medium vehicles, new and advanced technologies are opening up prospects in other segments as well.
While commercial availability of electric trucks in India is still in the early stages, several EV start-ups have started to explore the 5- to 6-tonne category, while Tresa sees tremendous potential in heavyweight electric trucks with GVWs ranging from 18 to 55 tonnes. As a result, it has worked hard to create a working prototype — the Model V0.1.

Tresa Motors intends to invest Rs 500 crore in total to begin commercial manufacturing of 1,000 units of its Model V0.1 18 to 55-tonne medium and heavy electric truck platform.
The next phase is to secure its manufacturing, and the company, managed by Vinod K Dasari, former MD and CEO of Ashok Leyland and CEO of Royal Enfield, is preparing for a market launch in April 2026.
Vinod K Dasari has gone for complete localisation for this project, creating in-house manufacturing capabilities for its FLUX350 platform motors ranging from 150Kw to 350Kw, 600-kilowatt hour modular battery pack, and eAxle.

As per the senior officials, the firm's goal for January 2025 is to achieve one million incident-free kilometres on the road by the time the production-ready electric truck leaves the factory. Meanwhile, the company plans to finalize the site for the manufacturing plant in Tamil Nadu and Karnataka within the next several weeks.
Technical USP of Model V0.1 electric truck
It's important to note that only a few companies in the world are capable of producing e-axles with axial flux motors for medium and heavy truck applications. Tresa Motors is proud to be India's sole manufacturer of the axial flux motor-powered eAxle.
Tresa Trucks is not only altering the technology landscape, but it is also pushing the limits of driver experience. Model V cabins are constructed with central seating for drivers, giving them a commanding perspective of the road ahead. It will include air-conditioned driver cabins and safety technologies such as airbags, Lidar, and AI, making these vehicles one of the safest in the world.
Model V0.1 is Tresa's second significant version, bringing it closer to on-road trials with its partners thanks to its modular battery pack strategy, which allows the range to be extended "after" the trucks are sold.
