The new FUSO eCanter was spotted in Indonesia during the G20 Summit in Bali.

MFTBC developed the eCanter, a series-produced all-electric truck, as a solution to urban environmental issues such as noise, exhaust gas, and CO2 emissions.

The official FUSO distributor of Indonesia, PT Krama Yudha Tiga Berlian Motors (KTB), is showcasing the all-electric light-duty eCanter truck at the Battery Based Electric Motor Vehicle Exhibition hosted by the Ministry of Transportation of Indonesia. The exhibition, which is being held in conjunction with the G20 Bali Summit, will be open from November 12th to November 16th.

The Indonesian government is now focusing on green initiatives as one of the major focus areas of its national development strategy and has designated Sustainable Energy Transition as one of its three pillars for the country's presidency of the G20 in 2022. The exhibition aims to demonstrate the country's commitment to future mobility solutions that will aid in this shift toward sustainability.

Following the national interest in reducing emissions, local industries have been looking into ways to incorporate electric vehicles into their fleets. During September and October 2022, KTB worked with a major logistic transport company PT. Trimitra Trans Persada ("B-Log") to put the eCanter truck through its paces.

B-Log, which manages a 3000-strong fleet operating in 40 cities, tested the eCanter in daily deliveries in Jakarta. Routes through Tangerang, which has an international airport and is one of the more densely populated urban areas in the larger Jarkarta metropolitan area, allowed the logistics company to test the vehicle's utility.

This collaboration in Jakarta follows customer trials held in July in Denpasar, Bali, and is part of the preparations for the electric vehicle's introduction into the Indonesian market in the coming years. During the trials, KTB and Mitsubishi Fuso Truck and Bus Corporation(MFTBC) gain insight into customer needs, usage patterns, and potential challenges, while truck operators and drivers become acquainted with the new technology. The eCanter is Indonesia's only electric truck being tested under real-world business conditions. Mitsubishi Fuso and KTB hope to further drive the sustainability shift in this major market by setting these benchmarks with customers and cross-industry partners in Indonesia.
