Tata Motors, one of the leading and largest manufacturers in India, received India’s first Production Linked Incentive (PLI) certificate from the Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) in the N1 (4-wheeled goods vehicles) category. This certificate represents the outstanding work done by Tata Motors in manufacturing the four-wheeled goods transporting vehicles.

The Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) is an automotive research and development organisation. ARAI experts research and test vehicles of all the different manufacturers present in India and evaluate their quality, safety and performance. They honour the selected manufacturers for their excellent achievements in the automotive industry. The PLI certificate signifies the exceptional contribution made by Tata Motors in the industry.

Production Linked Incentive (PLI) certificate

The PLI scheme was first introduced in 2021 and over 115 companies in India including Tata Motors had filed for it. The PLI scheme was launched to overcome the cost disabilities, build a solid supply chain and generate employment in industry. The scheme includes commercial vehicles made for goods transportation. The certificate is only awarded to companies that meet the strict criteria laid by the ARAI. Tata Motors achieved its goals with its best quality N1 (4W Goods) vehicles.
