Tata Motors, India's premier vehicle manufacturer, announced the opening of Re.Wi.Re(Recycle with Respect). This one is the first Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility(RVSF) in Jaipur, Rajasthan.
The cutting-edge Re.Wi.Re. is designed to dismantle and de-pollute end-of-life commercial vehicles of all brands. It is completely digitalized for paperless operations and contains dedicated stations for the safe dismantling of components such as tyres, batteries, petrol, oils, liquids, and gases. The vehicles go through a rigorous documentation and dismantling process that is tailored to the needs of passenger and commercial vehicles.
This cutting-edge facility, inaugurated by Hon'ble Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Shri Nitin Gadkari, has a capacity of 15,000 vehicles per year and employs world-class, eco-friendly procedures for the safe and sustainable deconstruction of end-of-life vehicles.
Tata Motors' partner Ganganagar Vaahan Udyog Pvt. Ltd. constructed and operates it to scrap end-of-life passenger and commercial vehicles of all brands.
In launching Tata Motors' first Re.Wi.Re RVSF, Hon'ble Union Minister of Road Transport and Highways, Government of India, Shri Nitin Gadkari stated, "The National Vehicle Scrappage Policy was introduced with the aim of promoting circular economy by creating an ecosystem for phasing out unfit and polluting vehicles and to achieve a lower carbon footprint in the country by replacing them with greener and more fuel-efficient vehicles. I commend Tata Motors on establishing this quality facility that meets worldwide standards. We are striving to establish India as a vehicle scrapping hub for the entire South Asian region, and we require more such cutting-edge scrapping and recycling facilities in India."
Commenting on the launch of Re.Wi.Re., Mr Girish Wagh, Executive Director, Tata Motors, stated, "At Tata Motors, we are determined to delve into every facet of mobility to make it greener and sustainable. The opening of this RVSF (Registered Vehicle Scrapping Facility) marks a new chapter in the responsible disposal of obsolete automobiles. We want to maximize the value of scrap for future use while minimizing waste for the greater good by using globally benchmarked and optimized recycling procedures."
These decentralized facilities will benefit customers, share the economic value generated, and create jobs while meeting the demand to scrap vehicles in all parts of the country in an environmentally sustainable manner.
