The tractor parade is scheduled to commence immediately following the conclusion of the formal Republic Day parade in the national capital.

The Samyukta Kisan Morcha (SKM) has announced plans to organize a massive tractor parade on Republic Day in around 500 districts across the nation. The decision revealed in an official statement issued on December 28, marks a bold departure from traditional protests and is aimed at demonstrating the unity and collective strength of the farming community.
The SKM anticipates the event to span at least 500 districts, symbolizing a widespread and powerful demonstration of solidarity. Participants are expected to take a solemn pledge during the parade, affirming their dedication to safeguarding the core values that form the foundation of the nation.
The tractor parade is scheduled to commence immediately following the conclusion of the formal Republic Day parade in the national capital. SKM has extended a hearty invitation to farmers from every corner of the country and urged them to enthusiastically participate in this unprecedented event.
The parade was notable for its inclusion of tractors, vehicles and motorcycles, creating a dynamic and visual display of unity and purpose. Farmers will be seen flying the national flag alongside flags representing various constituent organizations, emphasizing their commitment to the democratic, federal, secular, and socialist principles enshrined in the Constitution of India.

The tractor parade will be preceded by a 'Jana Jagaran' campaign launched by SKM state units in 20 states from January 10-20, 2024. This massive outreach campaign will include door-to-door visits and leaflet distribution across the country. The campaign's principal goal is to expose what the SKM refers to as the central government's "pro-corporate economic policies."
The move comes as a unique strategy employed by the SKM to highlight its commitment to democratic values and emphasize the importance of the farming community in shaping the country's future. By organizing this tractor parade on Republic Day, the SKM seeks to convey a strong message about the significance of collective action and the integral role of farmers in the socio-economic fabric of India.
SKM's appeal to farmers echoes a broader theme, encouraging social action to dismantle the "corporate-communal nexus". The movement seeks to address alleged divisive practices used in society by leveraging sectarian and casteist fault lines.

The SKM expresses an unshakeable resolve to strengthen the battle until the union administration addresses all of its issues, emphasizing the importance of their demands. This announcement comes after the events of January 26, 2021, when thousands of farmers protested and battled with police during a tractor demonstration.
Farmers were calling for the repeal of three problematic agriculture laws enacted by the Centre. The 2024 Republic Day tractor parade is set to be a crucial chapter in India's ongoing farmers' protest, representing a continuing struggle for justice, equity, and the protection of farmers' rights.
