Get Rs 10,000 for Completing House Construction on Time

In a recent decision by the state government, additional benefits have been introduced for PMAY Urban beneficiaries. If a beneficiary completes house construction within 12 months, they will receive a reward of Rs 10,000. This incentive aims to encourage the timely completion of housing projects and ensure that more people can benefit from the scheme without delays.

Additional Financial Aid for Women

According to media reports, PMAY Urban 2.0 will now offer extra financial assistance to certain women beneficiaries. The elderly, widows, and abandoned women will receive additional financial aid from the state government.

• Elderly beneficiaries will receive Rs 30,000.
• Widows and abandoned women will get Rs 20,000.

This proposal by the Urban Development Department has already been approved by the State Cabinet.

Houses Cannot Be Sold for Five Years

To prevent misuse of the scheme, the state government has introduced a condition that the houses built under PMAY Urban 2.0 cannot be sold or transferred for five years. The scheme includes interest subsidies, individual housing construction, affordable housing partnerships, and rental housing schemes to benefit a wider population.

Subsidies Under PMAY Urban 2.0

Beneficiaries under different categories of PMAY Urban 2.0 can avail the following subsidies:

• Interest Subsidy: Home loan borrowers will receive a subsidy of Rs 2.50 lakh to reduce the cost of bank loans.
• Individual House Construction: Beneficiaries constructing homes on 30 square meters of land will get Rs 2.50 lakh in grants.
• Affordable Housing Projects: Weaker sections, lower-income groups, and middle-income groups purchasing homes through the Development Authority or Housing Development Council will receive a subsidy of Rs 2.50 lakh.

Priority will be given to persons with disabilities, senior citizens, Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), widows, unmarried women, minorities, and other disadvantaged groups.

Special Benefits for Uttar Pradesh Residents

Residents of Uttar Pradesh will receive additional financial assistance and rewards under PMAY Urban 2.0. Before the upcoming cabinet meeting chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath in Prayagraj Mahakumbh, 22 proposals have already been approved. However, further details will be disclosed after the final cabinet meeting.
