The Odisha Government's District Level Krushi Mahotsav and Farm Mechanisation Mela entered its successful third day to increase agricultural mechanization and support farmers. Farmers, agricultural specialists, and government officials participated enthusiastically in the event, with Mahesh Patnaik, Chairman of Raigad Municipal Council, serving as the major guest on the third day.

During the event, Dr. Alok Kumar, S.D.V.O. Gunupur, addressed the audience on the importance of mechanization in the Animal Husbandry sector. His insights shed light on the potential benefits of incorporating advanced technologies in livestock farming.
The Krushi Mahotsav and Farm Mechanisation Mela provided a platform for agricultural equipment manufacturing companies, distribution companies, and various departmental officers to showcase their products and services. Farmers had the opportunity to explore a wide range of equipment, tools, and machinery required for agricultural activities, all available at discounted prices.

There are stalls for major private sector agricultural machinery manufacturers such as Mahindra tractors, Stihl farming implements, Sonalika tractors, Swaraj tractors, PowerTrac tractors, Eicher tractors, and John Deere. The Raigarh Agricultural Science Center has also set up a stall.
Farmers who registered themselves on the Sugam portal (sugam.odisha.gov.in) are now eligible to avail of subsidies on various farm mechanization tools, including tractors and tubewells.
The subsidy initiative is a significant step towards promoting modern farming techniques and easing the financial burden on farmers. The major goal of the fair was to offer farmers with subsidized agricultural equipment, seeds, and so on. Farmers must, however, follow a specific protocol to receive these services.
The Odisha Government's commitment to supporting farmers through subsidies on tractors and other mechanization tools underscores its dedication to enhancing the efficiency and productivity of the agricultural sector.
As the event unfolds, it is expected to leave a lasting impact on the farming community, boosting a culture of innovation and sustainable agricultural practices in the region.
