In a practical tip, Sharma informed the gathering about the benefits of converting commodities into powdered forms for longer storage. She stated, "Farmers can also dry up garlic and make a powder to store for a longer period," offering valuable insights to enhance sustainability and shelf life in agriculture.
The event featured distinguished figures and experts, with Komal Shah, Director of SML Limited, addressing the crowd. Shah passionately enlightened the audience about the critical impact of climate change on agriculture, attributing approximately 23 per cent of greenhouse gas emissions to the sector.
She emphasizes the urgency of adopting sustainable agricultural practices as a potent tool to mitigate these effects. Having dedicated two decades to empowering women in agriculture, Shah highlighted the importance of innovation and eco-friendly approaches.

Sunita, a pioneering woman farmer, shared her decade-long journey of practising pesticide and fertilizer-free agriculture, placing a spotlight on the vital role of education in agriculture. The occasion was the prestigious Millionaire Farmer of India Awards, a platform that celebrates and recognizes the outstanding contributions of women in the agricultural sector.
Sunita, a seasoned farmer, captivated the audience as she explained her unique approach to farming, centred around the study of worms. Over the past 10 years, she delved into understanding the inconvenience caused by worms, their various growth stages, and the diverse varieties present in her village.
Her commitment to sustainable and organic practices has not only yielded impressive results but has also inspired a group of like-minded individuals in her community dedicated to exploring the potential of worm-centric agriculture.
The event also featured Simrit Kaur, the esteemed Principal of Shriram College of Commerce at the University of Delhi. Kaur brought valuable academic insights to the forefront, emphasizing the pivotal role of education in shaping the next generation of women agripreneurs and leaders in the agricultural domain.
She shed light on the potential for augmented production through the use of organic fertilizers and the importance of financial assistance to facilitate the growth of women in agriculture.
