M&M is the first Indian automaker to participate in the DJSI world index.

Two Mahindra Group companies, M&M and Tech Mahindra, are among the six Indian companies featured in this year's World Index.

For the second consecutive year, Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has been listed on the Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI) 2022 World Index list of companies. Two Mahindra Group companies, M&M and Tech Mahindra, are among the six Indian companies featured in this year's World Index. M&M is one of nine companies in the World Index from the 'Auto & Component' Sector.

While M&M was included in the DJSI Emerging Market Index for the 13th consecutive year, Tech Mahindra has been a member of both the World Index and the Emerging Market Index for the last eight years. This year, the Emerging Markets Index includes 17 Indian companies.

"Mahindra group has always placed purpose before profits and is conscious of its responsibility to the environment. 'Rise for a more equal world' is part of our core purpose," said Anish Shah, managing director and CEO of M&M.

The S&P Dow Jones Sustainability Index (DJSI), a collaboration between S&P Dow Jones Indices and RobecoSAM, seeks disclosures from over 5,300 companies worldwide. It is the first global index to track corporate sustainability actions on environmental, social, and governance dimensions. A company is included in the World Index if its scores are in the top 10% of its industry worldwide.
