Mahindra Tractors has introduced three new OJA models: MYOJA (intelligence pack), PROJA (productivity pack), and ROBOJA. This significant launch marks a pivotal moment in the agricultural machinery sector, as Mahindra continues to cement its reputation as a pioneer in farm equipment.
The tractors are priced at INR 564,500 (ex-showroom ) for the OJA 2127 and INR 735,000 (ex-showroom ) for the OJA 3140. They will be manufactured in India and sent to six other continents.
The new tractors are based on three OJA platforms: subcompact, compact, and small utility, and are designed to meet a variety of market needs. Following that, the OJA series will be introduced in North America, ASEAN, Brazil, Australia, South Africa, Europe, and the SAARC area. Mahindra will also make its ASEAN debut in 2024, beginning with Thailand.
According to the corporation, 75% of the tractor industry in the United States is seeking a tractor with 60hp or more, while more than 90% of customers prefer small tractors with a relevant industry of 1.75 lahks. The ASEAN region has a similar demand for compact tractors, with a relevant demand of 70,000 units.
Meanwhile, in India, where the relevant market for the OJA range is 1.25 lakh units, usage will primarily be in orchards and vineyards. The country's demand for 4WD tractors for paddy fields is increasing.
According to Hemant Sikka, President of Mahindra & Mahindra's Farm Equipment Sector, the new OJA range of lightweight tractors is a powerhouse of energy aimed at progressive farmers.
He went on to say that OJA tractors enable Mahindra to target 25% of the global tractor sector while also opening up new markets such as Europe and ASEAN.
According to Vikram Wagh, CEO, Farm Division, M & M, the OJA tractor series represents a paradigm leap in Indian agriculture.

OJA will be manufactured exclusively in Zaheerabad, the country's newest tractor manufacturing facility. Wagh noted that the collection will be offered to clients in India beginning in October.
According to a press release, OJA is Mahindra's most ambitious global lightweight tractor platform, derived from the Sanskrit term "Ojas" which means "powerhouse of energy."
It was created in partnership with the engineering teams of Mahindra Research Valley, India, the Mahindra AFS R&D center, and Mitsubishi Mahindra Agriculture Machinery, Japan, at a cost of INR 1200 crore.
Along with the launch of the OJA line, Mahindra will expand its network of over 1100 channel partners.
